  1. https://www.americanlegacyfishing.com/g-loomis-mbr844-glx-classic-used-casting-rod-excellent-condition.html one of the most universal rods on the planet
  2. The Loomis GLX can be had for around that price and will serve your needs nicely
  3. This is a great dual purpose rod to also include shallow CB. got mine on sale and saved 50.00 https://www.alphaangler.com/collections/bait-casting-rods
  4. I use this to mushroom mono/ FC for FG , Alberto and PR knot. Also stops braid from fraying https://www.google.com/search?q=berkley+line+cutter&rlz=1C9BKJA_enCA684US685&oq=berkley+line+cutter&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3.30193j1j7&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=imgv&imgv=0
  5. When nothing is working I break out the bait of last resort.....NED?
  6. Jerks, poppers, and anything that is effected by wind.
  7. In my mind the beauty of conquest is that could cover almost all techniques with the exception of DS..... It literally can take the place of 5 setups, which would be a money saver
  8. I would not spend this kind of money for this Technique, but on the top shelf would be a 7’ MH Conquest with a 100/200 conquest Calcutta . .....a GLX MBR and the new Antares would also be just fine ?
  9. DC reels are not backlash proof and poor technique can create overruns
  10. After a storm I head to flooded creaks and Inlets to the lake. Usually a good foood source and low vis water. Usually not as good as prefrontal or during the front
  11. You might want to look into Finns and Gamma. I do like being able to guy in bulk.
  12. The rod has more to do with casting than the reel, but some reels help more than others. For lighter weights, keep the reel and put it on a medium/ F. I have several MET DC’s on Med GLX MBR’s for my kids and they can throw 1/2 my baits......the used section of this board is your friend?
  13. I too love this know, but also find Shaw’s knot even easier.
  14. I find 832 better in all aspects except color retention.
  15. Please try the Ike NEKO finesse hook. I take a lot of never-ever kids and that hook can set itself in the roof of the mouth....and if swallowed it is easy to get out through the gills as the shank isn’t so long it won’t turn in a small fish
  16. Had my right one rebuilt and and if you rehab it properly there should not be a problem after a couple of months, but the rehab sucks! Truth be told my accuracy increased and my mechanics had to be perfect. After long days on the water it can still bother me. I found a roll cast with a BC was my friend in the beginning......ELBoW by your side always This helps https://www.amazon.com/customerpicks/Explore-suicide-knobs-for-boat/7ffd77455be9187ef9aa
  17. If your having issues, use a super line hook and don’t look back
  18. The issue is putting away wet hooks, weights, etc and silica is your friend. I love the edge system but it’s expensive, but given the savings over the years, justified. Tip: silica kitty litter is cheap and can be put in ladies nylons, place in compartments and humidity problems solved. It lowers RH to 55% Museums, Gun owners and cigar collectors have been using it for a decade
  19. Spool label up. After I use it the first time, I cut off the terminal tackle and let 100 yards off behind the boat and troll 1/2 a mile. Any twist is gone. I do it a couple times a year.

    Comedians

I doubt we will see anyone like Don Rickles again ? Never mind Andrew Dice Clay
  21. Conquest.....all day long. I have the 843 and it’s incredibly versatile and I love the MBR flex.....
  22. All my spinners are 10# braid, thanks
