  1. There are to many other options without the failure rate for the same or less money, that said the flat side special and spinning rods rods are pretty durable
  2. Your dad is a smart man
  3. Not sure what you mean by braid ready, but backing doesn't hurt the performance of a spinning set up......If you don't like backing....1 strip of electric tape...tie your arbor knot.....add one wrap of tape to secure....DONE
  4. I am a fan of the baby box anchor, but you will still get a good amount of grass and mud. A fluke that can be easily flipped from side to side may be easier to clean off as it gets to the boat. I have also seen homemade rebar one that is finger-like .......they don’t hold much junk but are a ***** to store.
  5. Casting Couch ?
  6. Howdy, I am looking to start videotaping and am in awe of some of the videos I see. I could have just emailed @A-Jay but figured others may benefit from the thread. What are you guys using for equipment ? What works best? What to avoid? Thanks in advance .
  7. I was a hard NO and am now undecided. A friend reminded me of my first day at boot camp when tons of junk was shot into my arms,,,,,then again with the Iran thing with Reagan...safe to say I have no idea what is inside of me and to my buddies end, what is one more ? if it wasn’t for not wanting to quarantine it for travel , it would still be a no
  8. I have had more random breaks on 30# smackdown than all other braids combined. Given the availability of top shelf braids, it isn’t a big deal

    2 shot club

My wife and son got theirs....Both said the they really didn’t feel the chip going in. ??
  10. I am sure a few would come out if you turned them upside down but they would do that in my case
  11. Squam is probably 4 weeks away...There are some areas that are getting dark already
  12. Started organizing for the spring and like the jig box for jerks. Holds 25 of my most used jerks with out having to rubber band the trebles. Now I just have to upgrade all the trembles ?
  13. @12poundbass, this might be in your wheelhouse
  14. I use both, largely depending on size of bait and wind conditions. The MB Ronnin is my tool of choice for spinning set up
  15. 8 watched Vision Quest with some of my athletes last week and if this some doesn’t make you want to run through a wall, nothing will
  16. The shallow waters are a bit lighter but a second pair is a big nut to Crack ?
  17. I have prescription polarized and can't imagine fishing without them.....Oakley
  18. I find traditional dropshot fishing boring to begin with, so watching it is even harder. Thak god for editing ? That said I enjoy the bubba shot more and watching it on tv isn't as bad. .........andlet'ss be honest, nothing is as good as top water for entertainment and adrenaline.
  19. I think for a beginner it is far more important to learn how to detect a bite and set the hook than it is learn Techniques/presentations. That is why when I take out beginners I like going for numbers and a wacky rig stick bait usually gets the call...followed by Neko and Trig of similar bait on a Med Spinning rod.
  20. Since I tried Defier Armilo, I have been using less FC, especially with buzz baits
  21. JDM is your friend
  22. I have that rod and use a Met MGL and love it! If your set on tipping the scale a little more, the new Anteres would get the call......or Conquest Calcutta 100
  23. Growing up I never missed an episode of Fung Fu ?
