  1. For me the NEKO hook has replaced all circle hooks. VMC being top of the food chain....many no bs go to circle hooks with the thought that hook removal is easier. Learning to go through the gills mitigate the need
  2. ......it's not always about fishing..... .....having a positive mental attitude helps me make better decisions on the water....
  3. Covers with vents are the best of both worlds. The better ones that use poles often have a solar cell what spins a fan when charged. I have always moored my boats and the combination works great. The only downside is that the solar fan only last a couple years and have to be replaced, but they are only 35.00
  4. I get it..... If your 10 minutes early, your 15 minutes late? When my dad got me my first watch as a kid, he set it 10 minutes early. "You will never be late" That said, as I got older and busier I found that being to early was a waste of time. Given I could have 5 meetings a day, I was loosing an hr of productivity. When recreating, especially with my toys, my partner gets to be late once. After that I leave them on the dock. ???
  5. Wasn't being critical or any disrespect intended. I was commenting on the basic subject of price matching. Of course several factors come into play that change the situation.
  6. Like others have said, the backing should never make it through the quides , unless you are being spooled.
  7. To each their own, but I don't think it is fair to the retailer that already has it marked down. This happened to me when I purchased my last car. While shopping at the second dealer,,,,after negotiations,,, and about to walk, they said they would match the previous dealers price. I kept walking back to the first dealer. Of course there are many variables and don't judge one way or the other. I just put myself in the shoes of the original vendor. Truth be told I don't mind paying more at mom and pops, which isn't the case with big box.
  8. Child rig right in the thick of things
  9. I have a couple of these. You also can't tell the cost of something until the accounting period is over. I figure I will use them as long as I am able. They will go to my son and grandsons. Could easily be used for 50 years and provide nice memories along the way. Factoring how long they could be used, I believe the final cost to be a bargain. Just one FOG's thoughts
  10. This is timely as I have a camp chef in a basket wait g for me to check out. Choosing is driving me freekin nuts! Long way to go to make it to 100 degrees, but it's a start
  11. Try going over your way point then going over it again perpendicular to it. Both marks are not likely to be perfect. Move off the poimt and think of them as an area to throw to. Remember your speed is also going to effect the marks. It does get easier?
  12. I don't think trebles on a JB are a problem, but if you must, get a good scale designed for coffee. They are super accurate in the range you will be weighing. I have also seen a few guys cut on hook off the trebles to make them more boyant and not effect the hook up ratio
  13. I think it is because it is expensive to replace all the broken warranty previous years models ???????? .....just adding levity to a sideways thread
  14. Arbor knot
  15. Manual Transmission, over rated, covervetteproved that Coffee: underrated, it should be required Senko: (sorry, just being funny) Facebook:
  16. Dogs: underrated, their better than most people I know. 9mm rounds :
  17. Hell, I must be high. Not sure I am fishing this Summer and don't need another rod, but just pulled the trigger on this....I have more problems than I realized ?
  18. You can hit it multiple times for greater distance with a double tap. I seldom bump 5' but 10 is commom
  19. Years ago I saw a video of A Martens making a strong argument for backing with braid and topping with 50 yards of FC. Having had cheap braid I followed suit and did the same. Makes my Tatsu last longer. I don't think I can tell the difference between mono and braid backing but I do like it
  20. I am a loomis guy and can say there are better options at the pic point of the e6x. Alpha rods are often overlooked and shouldn't be ( hint)
  21. Wow, another 12 year old revival ??. I'll bite. I have several but have come to the conclusion that that when you compare their BC'S to Loomis BC's, the scale tilts towards Loomis, especially in the warranty Dept. On the flip side, it is hard to beat their spinning rods and they have not suffered the quality control issues there. Again, this is my opinion
  22. I am sure you see the theme here, but most assume you have a good casting platform. If you don't that's a must. Assuming you have it covered 1. graph at console 2. TM/SL 3. I would add bow electronics before shallow water anchor if you have SL 4. talon *****Drotto clamp for the trailer
  23. The Renegade given it doesn't require a lot of motor is a great choice. A lot of boat for the money, but it ain't cheap. Also take into consideration resale and there is where Lund shines
  24. 9 Saw these guys when I was a devel pup.....yes approved by Led Zeppelin!
  25. Line twist is your problem. That said, "wind tamer" is a great braid that helps tame the beast. I am not suggesting you spend more $$$$$" but when it needs to be replaced, consider it.
