  1. Wow!!! Sounds like you've got some healthy soil. I do also like the scissor trap (especially for the deep tunnels). I could use your help in TN!
  2. This is true, to a point. At some level it takes two to tango
  3. Cool photo, I catch moles for a living (among other nuisance wildlife). They way to get them is with harpoon traps and there are way less than you think in your yard. Dozens of tunnels usually means 1-2 moles. Whole yard eat up with tunnels could be 4-6 moles
  4. Caught several of all 3 species on the Tennessee river only a couple miles from downtown knoxville last night after work
  5. The fed kills the weeds on the Tennessee river and it doesn't directly kill fish but it ruins the habitat for sure. When they leave the grass alone people weigh in 5 fish limits over 40 lbs. when they kill it, that weight drops by more than half
  6. I vote for easter. He is risen indeed!
  7. I have never bought one that costs more than $40 and cheap fishing rods are surprisingly tough. I have never bought an ugly stick either. Most of what I get is between 15 and $20 and will last a couple years
  8. Every lake in Tennessee has both I would guess, definitely in East Tennessee. Watauga would probably be your best bet for trophy smallmouth and lots of decent spots right now. Parksville on the ocoee is where they keep breaking the spotted bass state record but not as many smallmouth. Nickajack in Chattanooga has big smallies and spots (and LM), the smallies and spots seem to stay closer to the top end of it for the most part. Cherokee and Norris have a decent population of both species
  9. Largemouth have a black stripe running the length of their body. Smallmouth don't
  10. Prednisone is magic for poison ivy. I have it all spring summer and fall, sometimes in winter. The dead vines can still get you when you operate a chainsaw, splatters everywhere
  11. I bet lebron signs with the warriors in the offseason.......
  12. One of the best fish I have eaten out of freshwater, tons of meat on them
  13. Looks like it went 12 rounds with rocky Marciano
  14. Illegal to use bluegill???????? What's the world coming to.....
  15. Oddly enough, we have them in Tennessee and guess what...... clear water and big smallies where there are zebras
  16. Last years "drought" is officially over hahaha
  17. Nice fish! Thanks for the post. @GrumpyOlPharttei understand trying to stop the spread of zebra mussels but I don't think that's the way to go about it!!! Hahah. There's no need for hassling the people that use the fishery. They are the ones that care the most and provide all the cash. Zebra mussels have already proven that they are much tougher than a signed release form.
  18. Hahaha yep only this year Norris is way more full than normal, and I guess Cumberland is similar
  19. Whoa, nice fish! Is that on Norris???
  20. Nice job thanks for the recap. Alabama spots are tons of fun
  21. Nice fish, trolling is effective for me as well. Can't believe I waited so long to start doing it
  22. I have never got a bite with one either. A little costly for something I never catch fish with
  23. Awesome fish man! I am already looking forward to winter again, wish I could wear a jacket
  24. Just saw where you were from Norris, there's some walleye in that lake. I'm no expert but I have caught them on accident while bass fishing on Norris. The way most people catch them this time of year can be done from the bank. The alewives will spawn up against the rock banks at night, and folks will slow roll big jerkbaits on top or throw top waters. Redfin, bomber long A, spook, popper and torpedo are common choices, but from what I understand it has to be done at night. I have caught them in the middle of summer in the middle of the day fishing a shakey head on Norris but I'm guessing that was totally random luck. People also catch them bank fishing below Douglas dam and fort Patrick Henry dam. Also tellico lake has a good population if you're ever out that way.
  25. Nice fish, that spot looks like bass heaven. How did your motor come loose?
