  1. Weightless Senko is never dead. Just Texas Rig it, minus the bullet weight of course
  2. I may have caught one of those in a cast net one time, I remember three of us saying we had never seen the species on the TN river and unused it for bait. Can’t remember if I caught anything with it but that was the only time I remember seeing one except when I was in Florida. This was in chickamauga lake, not sure if they live there in numbers or not
  3. The pelicans are playing pretty good so far but steph curry looks almost back to 100%. I wish I could stay up to watch this game
  4. Curly tail grub is trout candy!!!! @RichPenNY, great advice on small hooks, it doesn’t really make sense but it works. I have better odds of landing them once hooked with a size 20 zebra midge than a 1/4 oz spoon
  5. MJ- 6 trips to the finals, 6 finals mvp awards. LeBron wasn't the best player on the court in last year's finals Correct, and the ones near the end are more important
  6. Thanks for the comments guys. I didn’t get a temp yesterday but That was an extremely shallow freestone steam that wArms up several degrees everyday (provided the sun comes out) and drops a few at night so I would guess we had low 50s in the morning and pushing 56-58 by afternoon. I think they were spawning some, definitely were spawning there earlier this spring. The water was 60 degrees for a week in February, it’s been a weird year
  7. I finally gave the white bass a rest and headed out for some river smallmouth. These fish, unlike the deep water smallmouth, don't mind a good dose of sunshine. We fished probably 8 hrs, action was a little slow but we finally started getting some nice fish around 2-2.5 lbs and 15-17 inches. some buddies fishing the same area got a few a little bigger. Dragging craws on skakeys worked best for us. Mountains were pretty on a low humidity day, tried to capture that with the last picture
  8. I don’t ever sight fish for nesters but I’m sure I have dragged my Texas rigs through plenty of beds without know it. I just don’t like the idea of trying to catch one bass for 45 minutes, especially when you hear people say they got a 30 lb limit in 20 minutes. I have no issue with those that do bed fish, our local reservoirs are unnafected by it. Up in the north country it must have some effect because they have closed seasons and c&r only seasons. I tend to think a large amount of fish in the TN river spawn where people can’t see them (6+ ft underwater )
  9. I have to fish all light and dainty quite often because our fish are so pressured and the water is mostly clear. I’d much rather land a fish with a baitcasters but sometimes they just won’t eat my popR in January..........
  10. Well In my opinion a game winning shot for a championship is a notch above a game winning shot for game 2 of the semifinals. If that’s typical of a Jordan fan, which I am, then sign me up. You play to win the championship, that’s the goal and MJ wouldn’t be denied. Lebron is a great player and continues to do things I didn’t think he would, he could win a championship this season. But at the end of a game, give me MJ.
  11. I have sadly done that before when I was little but there was no recording, i guess that doesn’t make it any better. As an adult I have freed a few from landscape netting, hopefully helped my karma a little. Kids are dumb and if their mother is anything like mine, she told them to kill every snake they saw. Mom doesn’t care what kind of snake it is, she doesn’t want to be in the same Zip code as any snake.
  12. I usually try both. Maybe jig or twitch them more after they die
  13. So far I have found 2 lebron playoff buzzer beaters (other than the one earlier this week) one was to win game 2 vs the magic in the eastern conference finals in 2009, a series the magic won 4-2 (can’t quite call that heroic). Another was 2 yrs ago to tie in the eastern semis vs the bulls. Micheal Jordan hit a buzzer beater to win a national CHAMPIONSHIP before he even entered the NBA
  14. When: anytime you have some. Smoke em if ya got em. How to fish them? On or near the bottom. How to hook them? Hook point goes into underside of the tail, think of the meatiest part to eat and try to hook it there. Endless supply? I'm hungry.......
  15. Well I can't help much there as I have never been north of Philly on the east coast. Decent rule of thumb: bright sky bright wild color lures. Couldy sky natural color lures.
  16. They are more active when it's snowing sideways where I fish. They are much more inclined to chase lures with clouds, they stay tight to cover and bite slower baits better in the sun. This info is for deep reservoirs on the TN river system and doesn't seem to apply in natural lakes up north (although I have only bass fished up north for one week, just going by what guys on here say). Are you fishing natural lakes or manmade? Which part of the USA? Also, river smallmouth can behave nearly opposite of their lake brethren. They eat the same baits just at different times and places and conditions
  17. White bass were putting on a show tonight. They were all over the shoals and going hog wild, we lost count around 110 because a big Striper tried to eat a white bass boatside and we tried to catch it for a while. Then I got stuck in the Rapids for 2nd night in a row and broke a prop. Luckily they are $15 for my mud motor and I keep 4 in the boat but we were doing all this in the dark standing in the river. Won’t forget this one for a while, I even threw a long A at that Striper and caught a skipjack in a strange way so I let it swim around live bait style
  18. So I’m guessing all lebrons were in first round and all Jordan’s were in finals? (Except the one on ehlo). I did say “important” playoff game
  19. Yes but we sell beaver trapping services!!! It sells pretty well
  20. I agree with you instead of martens. Big striper and largemouth coexist here very well
  21. I was fixing to say there's no way on Earth a double created cormorant is endangered. I can show you 1000 everyday. I have also had one poop ALL over me. Thankfully they don't effect fishing on the TN river where you can walk across schools of shad. They can hurt small lakes and ponds, USFWS can give you a depredation permit to kill them if you raise fish for money
  22. @Bluebasser86, that sucks. My motor is not allowed to trim all the way up either because the support arm that the motor rests on digs into the cylinder when it's maxed out. Problem is, all my buddies want to help put the boat on the trailer and they always trim it all the way up no matter how many times I tell them not to. They always say "well I didn't wanna drag the prop on the ramp." I may soon institute a "only I get to put the boat on the trailer rule"
  23. I watch a lot of hoops and that's the first time I recall him ever winning an important playoff game on a final shot (of his own) To say he has done that "a lot in his career," you're gonna have to prove it. I gave him props for doing it last night. He also made all of his free throws which is rare, he was in the zone and feeling it. Even if they called that last play goal tending, his 3 at the buzzer still wins it
  24. I’ll have to hand it to lebron, I didn’t think he could hit a big shot at the end of a game that mattered and he did exactly that today.
  25. "I've received a tantalizing report of a man eating fish." Funny I swore he said that last episode
