  1. Yes there was, someone mentioned it above
  2. Holy moly!!! I wouldn't sell that either!!!
  3. Scary but unbelievably delicious creature. Just like with several species, this is one we thought needed protection 20 years ago and now we are the ones that need protection. Sounds like they should raise the amount of harvest permits issued. People always have and always will underestimate animals. There are packs of feral dogs in some parts of the world that kill people
  4. Looks like fun! That may be the biggest reservoir east of the MS river
  5. @WolfyBrandon, those Pike are monsters! Didn't realize they lived out there. I always keep an extra t handle, some Paracord and thin tools on board to route a new rip cord. Glad y'all didn't have to paddle all night! Haha
  6. This is a little off the wall, coming from a “whatever you’ve got on board” perspective. I fish a lot of unbelievably clear super deep lakes for smallmouth in the winter. I usually cast at cliffs and as you could imagine the action can be a little slow when it’s really cold so I started dragging a drop shot off the deep side of the boat while casting at the bank. I usually just grabbed a baitcaster with 10-12 Lb mono and tied some 4 Lb mono or Fly fishing tippet on as a leader. That setup has gotten me a surprising amount of bites. Not a great hook up ratio because I’m not good at drop shotting but if you drag one along in addition to what you are casting it can locate more biting fishing. Until of course you get one of your lines stuck and forget about the other, in which case you are ruined for about 10 minutes
  7. Nice job! It’s always a good day when you can set the rod down and still catch fish
  8. Douglas night time fishing people always mention a red color Texas rig worm, especially cherryseed. Norris I like green pumpkin. All that said, junebug works anywhere anytime
  9. We get a bunch of black ones. In the Niagara video that some one posted recently you could see a few dark ones mixed in
  10. Cool! Thanks for the info, I love learning who originally recorded songs. A few of my favorite songs by various artist have been traced back to “the boss.” One in particular was “Atlantic City” by the band
  11. Striper indeed, broken lines only exist to confuse people.
  12. I’ve had them eat a crankbait, live shad, and a plastic worm.
  13. The Who claimed “there ain’t no cure for the summertime blues”
  14. I think I commented on another thread somewhere that if it wasn’t so cold I would move north. I can fish in 25 degree air but that below zero business ain’t for me. My favorite thing about all the northern photos on this site: wide open water and no boats in sight. The bass in my waters have seen more lures than Johnny Morris himself
  15. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is more scary in the woods than bees. I mean, how often do you get bit by a rattlesnake or mauled by a bear?
  16. Hahaha I always tell people not to use the great stuff!!!! That stuff grows long after you let off the trigger. I love it when people go up and down both sides of the chimney with a small bead that looks like two yellow pythons on either side of the bricks the next day!
  17. River smallmouth will always eat a tube or a popper. And if it’s super shallow it sometimes doesn’t matter if you are fishing the top of the water or the bottom
  18. Nice job, Lake Fishing is lousy all over east TN right now. Although that should make a tournament easier to win you would think
  19. Nice catch! If it wasn’t so &;$$/@ cold I would move north!
  20. Biggest fish to ever come into my boat, although I didn’t catch it
  21. 5-6.5? “How Big an ol boy are ya?” -Roy d Mercer
  22. I used to throw a plastic snake for river smallies weightless along the surface and it drew some good strikes. I ran out of them years ago and haven’t seen them in stores since. I also can’t quite recall the brand
  23. Had an osprey take a bomber long A and strip a bunch of line and snap it Saturday morning. Luckily I think the recoil busted my lure loose and I found it floating with a bunch of line 5 minutes later
  24. Slap a zoom fat Albert on the back and pull it through grass. You may have to sort through some drum but the smallmouth will eat it
