  1. I get a lot of my plastics hand poured by an old timer, they are super soft with great action. As far as brands, I use zoom, rage tail, and big bite baits. Bobby garland for panfish
  2. Baitmate. Hadn’t heard that brand mentioned since I was a little feller! I got in trouble more than a few times for spilling that stuff back in the day
  3. Ditto. My preference is to change with the conditions. I enjoy throwing big heavy Texas rig just as much as a weightless finesse worm
  4. I hope so! Been at it for years so far hahaha
  5. No flat ground anywhere near me! Haha. You know what plumbers say about things rolling down hill.........
  6. The part I don't like is that I never get a bite........ .
  7. Well it depends......... If the current is raging I use a heavy one. If it's slack I use a light one. If the water is muddy I use a heavy one . If it's clear I might use light one or go weightless. Certainly don't hem yourself into only going one way or the other
  8. I found the small ones with gray jig heads from last winter in my tying box
  9. Thank you sir!!!! I had bought some deer belly hair for jigs and forgot about it, your post is the only thing that saved it from the proverbial rabbit hole. You might have just caused me to catch some fish ............
  10. Just draaaaaaaaagggg it as slow as you can. The current and wind and trolling motor and living rubber or big mop will do the rest. They will eat it just like a jerkbait sometimes, sitting completely still and whammy. Other times they bite it without you realizing it, just have to experiment. Clear deep water smallies in cold water—- take a hair jig or jig head with gulp minnow and toss it out. Let out some slack after it splashes down and close the bail. DONT DO ANYTHING ELSE AT ALL until you get a bite , in which case the fun starts. I don’t know if that counts as jig fishing but it’s a hair jig and they eat it on the pendulum swing
  11. It should be, barring a major flood. The only thing that could shut the bite down is spawning but that is usually more of an April/may event. The bags are typically heavier on every other Tennessee river reservoir though, fort loudon/ tellico is the furthest upstream reservoir on the TN river . As it flows downstream toward the Ohio it obviously gets bigger and bigger and in turn, so do the fish
  12. I love winter, the only part that I don't care for is the short daylight hours. Days are getting longer one by one now though! Won't be long til I'm casting in the 9:15 pm twilight
  13. They spray the TN river for weeds too. Everyone hates it but no once can stop it. The only grass in my area is downtown where there are no docks just industry along the banks
  14. They are everywhere, top to bottom
  15. Woke up this morning thinking i had a dream that someone whipped bama. turned on sports center, it actually happened!!!!!! Sweet!!!
  16. I use a crappie jig and a spook mostly
  17. Those look cool, I think my brother catches those out of the mid Atlantic and eats them. Are they wrasse???
  18. I keep seeing dale gribble from King of the Hill saying to hank “I give you one job......”
  19. The limits are 14” for largemouth and 18” for smallmouth. I’m guessing they will place a 12” limit for spots because there is no length minimum on them. I’m also not sure what they count a mean mouth as but somebody weighed in a 19 lb limit of meanmouth when flw came here, I want to say it was Scott Martin but I’m not sure. Smallmouth will be a major player, there’s a bunch of 4-5 lb ones
  20. For the record, it is indeed awesome
  21. Maybe UCF would have fared better if they borrowed LSU's blindfolds and played in them
  22. LSU should be able to beat UCF any day with blindfolds on
