  1. @Nor-Cal Basser, wow. Those are some big spots. They have a crazy gold color out there too
  2. I wish! Maybe I’ll go this winter, bout 2 hours for me
  3. No locking allowed I’m pretty certain
  4. That thing has to be sedated.......... it would remove your hand no matter how cold it is if you held one like that hahahahaHahahaha I have always heard this as well
  5. I wish I would have weighed this one! 2 days after Christmas in ‘07(?) . It hit a gold silver buddy, how ironic. This sucker about pulled me offf the front deck of the boat, I had to dip the rod all the way in the water. I don’t know if TN counts as northern strain but I got it in a small mountain lake with no Florida strain stockings
  6. Hahahha . Refs or not, LA took that one. Hoping for a blowout chiefs victory now
  7. Go chiefs!
  8. I went fishin . Bank fishing but better than couch sitting
  9. We had heavy rain all day yesterday so I decided to fish underneath the boat slip. I set out some rods with nightcrawlers and tossed a crappie jig around. I caught a small drum with the worms and a bigger one with the jig, go figure. I also lost several fish on the bigger set rods, bait and wait is trickier than I remember . Bluegill and crappie nowhere to be found
  10. If the water level isn't changing , then it's not a "variable" to consider
  11. Yes! Thank you hahA
  12. One of those things literally ate a small chunk of my thumb.
  13. Fontana????
  14. I got some mustad 65 lb braid years ago and its still on my big reels. It's hard to break, had to get creative to snap the lure off without losing all my line a time or two
  15. I fish any kind of grub. We used to call a sassy shad a "shad grub" and if you were bank fishing below any dam, you were either throwing a shad grub or trying to buy some off another fisherman. I also really love a curly tail , works for any fish any where
  16. I can't offer much help for water temps in 30s. If one or two of the lakes near here are in the 30s I can fish a couple deeper reservoirs that stay in the 40s
  17. I don't think I have ever spent over $45 on a spinning rod and reel. I always buy them separately though. Abu Garcia cardinal is a good $30 spinning reel, I usually get a fiberglass rod for $15 or under at academy
  18. I think I will experience 3 seasons just this weekend. 60 degrees to a thunderstorm to snow then clear and 17
  19. Hahaha! I had to pump the brakes on Maxwell House a couple hours ago. I was pointing out something to a customer earlier and my hand was shaking like crazy. Cold weather makes coffee go down too easily......
  20. Early spring I look for warm Creek water flowing into the back of a cove somewhere. Unless of course the runoff is colder than the main river. Rising water, fish rise with it. Falling water, fish fall back out with. Stable conditions? Maybe fish the mouths of coves and work in or out depending on results
  21. Wow. You could suit up and play for new England! You're in better shape than half the team and accustomed to the cold......
  22. @Gundog, insert "I was told there would be no math " meme here.....
  23. They are saying 22 degrees in Arrowhead now.
  24. Luckily robots can't do my job! Although when a squirrel chews a hole in someone's soffit 50 feet off the ground, I could use some help from a robot drone to fix it
