  1. My buddies sank a boat with a gas engine and mud motor kit. Thing still runs great after pouring all the water/gas/oil out
  2. Like @WRB said, I got into the habit of cutting them super short when tying tippet onto the end of trout leaders when fly fishing. If you leave a tiny tag end the leader will tangle up very badly and very often
  3. Well first off, as with any trapping, have to try more than once. Crawfish trapping anywhere north of The gulf is somewhat futile, you might catch two or three here and there, might catch a dozen Every now and then. My buddy, one of the best trappers I know (I’m also a professional trapper) fell down a YouTube rabbit hole of people trapping crawdads and became obsessed. He tried really hard and didn’t do much damage. We always catch some with minnow traps but catch more with our hands. I had another buddy that became obsessed with it and would catch a few here and there in a muddy lake bottom but a otter usually found the trap and destroyed it
  4. Pictures are deceiving, the middle two pictures are of the same fish (19” And the top fish was probably 19+ but we didn’t measure
  5. Yep! On both fronts
  6. Why?? Didn't you say you lived in Alabama?? .......... Sorry I couldn't resist
  7. More water than land= fish paradise! (I don't know if that's true but it sure seems like it)
  8. Makes pretty good catfish bait....
  9. Another nice catch, I believe you caught a green sunfish instead of a bluegill
  10. The people are what make it so great! Where you want to live just depends on what you are after. Mountains in East Tennessee , hills/cliffs in the middle, and massive large scale agriculture out west. West Tennessee reminds me more of rural Indiana/Illinois/Ohio where you will never see traffic , with the exception of Memphis of course. It’s kind of like going back in time, which i enjoy about it. There’s also Kentucky lake out there, which is beyond huge and the fish are too. Job market is very good as long as you don’t mind sweating a lot. Winters are mild, maybe 1 or 2 snowfalls of a couple inches each year. It does get down to zero degrees or a little under on occasion but not often. One of my favorite things about East Tennessee is the wind rarely blows at all unless there is a storm coming
  11. I've been noticing that......
  12. We're going to need to operate immediately
  13. Looks like fish above the thermocline to me
  14. You are going to need a for sale sign out front. Pronto. My girlfriend wanted me to move into a farm house she used to rent, I told her she’s was crazy because it was about 12-13 miles from the nearest boat ramp. Might as well have been in a desert with no water!!!!!
  15. I have a friend who is a big time pharmacist and started a company with the purpose Of getting the super expensive hard to get drugs in the hands of the people that needed them for a reasonable amount of money. They knew it would only have a 5-6 year run before it got shut down. He made it all the way to one of the top guys (In that city on the Potomac) and had a meeting scheduled that was of course cancelled last minute. Monster profits will always win out when you get to that level. I’m very thankful everyday that I don’t have to walk into a doctor/hospital or take any medicine. 34 years so far so good, that’s very fortunate compared to a lot of other folks.
  16. The top two pics were both 20.5” 3.75 lb smallmouth . We think they might have been the same one
  17. The holston and French broad and nolichucky are all fun shallow rivers to fish . The nolichucky is free flowing so it can be dangerous at times. Most of the boat ramps below Douglas dam are pretty rough, but they are doable with 4x4. The holston has a good ramp under the highway 11 (Asheville highway) bridge. It also fishes well up your way towards Kingsport . Check tva.gov for generation schedules and usgs for free flowing rivers
  18. Yes and I think she got me beat on biggest smallmouth. 22.5”
  19. Alabama smallmouth love the squarebill in 2 feet of water! Haha
  20. Rage tail menace!!
