  2. I like to fish deep and therefore seem to have the opposite experience as most of the responses . Deep fish are not inaccessible, you just have to let more line off your reel
  3. I prefer the same colors per conditions that @A-Jay mentioned. The only problem is the mirror has smeared off of every pair ive ever had so now i just wear the gray ones all the time. They are good all around
  4. I want to share a boat with the two of yall and learn about fluke fishing. I am decent with them, but the flukes i have are handpoured by an old timer that has sold them to lots of pros over the years. Im fairly certain they have some of the best action of any bait out there and i would enjoy seeing them fished by a couple of fluke aficionados
  5. It seems every time I try a new technique or lure I read about I spend all my time hauling water. When I put a plastic worm on a jig head I catch bass. The only time I remember something new working out for me was when I got some bladed jigs from @Bluebasser86 . I’m still mad at the whopper plopper hype, thankfully I was gifted one instead of having to buy one or I would be $13 madder
  6. The main problem I have is there is rarely any “bad” weather in east TN. (Good problem to have I guess) Yet almost everyone constantly complains about it. Oh well I get lots of casting practice in short sleeves
  7. Holy crap its Jeremy Henry. Whats up man? It's Russell. Tell myers he is a terrible golfer for me........
  8. me and my girlfriend had a fun fall colors paddle on sunday in the canoe

  12. Is there a strong current that would wash them away? Only one way to find out, somebody might steal the ramps if they are pricey. Scum of the earth tends to loiter at boat ramps
  13. Rule #1 of fishing: there are no rules
  14. @txchaser, all i can say is it will get easier when that water temp gets well below 70. 70 has been my least successful temp as long as i can recall. Id rather fish 47 degree water or 88 degree water every single time
  15. Yes the mountains are full of copperhead and the occasional timber rattler I fish southern Alabama also and have had the same experience except for the small ones. They hit lures over and over and over. The big ones won’t move for anything, not proud to admit I have a picture somewhere of a 12-14 footer with a buzzbait sitting on its head. It wasn’t my buzzbait but it is my picture........ haha. No kidding the spot we camp is where they killed the world record alligator . If you don’t believe me google world record alligator
  16. Well they don’t all move to the exact same spots . Where I’m at right now they are all roaming around eating tiny threadfin shad off the surface water temp about 70. I’ve caught them trolling crankbaits At 2 mph in water temps down to 47 degrees In flowing rivers. In lakes you can catch them no matter how cold it is, even through ice. In rivers I quit getting bites when the water temp is below 45. They don’t leave per say, they just don’t bite as much
  17. We have pure gas almost everywhere now. Thank god
  18. Great fish, will pray for your wife.
  19. H20 express are good for cheap ones
  20. One of my fishing buddies swore by those CC two packs. They are all I buy now
  21. Ive heard those moccasins like to come directly toward you unlike any other snake. Thankfully the water is too cold here for them but they are all over west TN and some in middle TN
  22. December is far and away my favorite month to fish . Nickajack is always tough but can be rewarding, you can still fish hollow body frogs on grass some decembers. No joke. Up below the dam downtown there are big largemouth smallmouth and spots, stripers, and world class catfish ing. Guntersville is much more massive but its just the next lake downriver so it should be similar
  23. Well i finally got a bunch of dinks to break my dry spell. Friday evening i only caught 3 babies but it was the triple crown of black bass all in downtown so ill take it.....the large mouth hit a frog at dark and went airborne on the hookset. Sorry little fella it was dark i couldnt see Also lost a yellow perch. Pretty sunset Saturday i caught lots of little smallmouth but my buddy got an 18" and a 20" smallmouth while fishing close by my boat, i even got to net one . Pretty sunrise
