  1. It never ceases to amaze me when people rely on weather predictions and expect them to be accurate. Come on guys! Plan for the opposite and expect the unexpected. Its like browns fans thinking this is the year.......
  2. April? I'd skip the lake and be fishing a freestone river for smallmouth. Weather between now and then will play a major role
  3. It’s a great spot, I’ve got many a big large mouth smallmouth Striper and everything else right there
  4. I've never paid over $40 for a rod, most of mine are $12.99 at academy. I would not enjoy fishing with a $200 rod, id be as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs
  5. One crappie, he’s pictured in the other species latest catch pics thread
  6. Didn’t get the boat launched until 6 but caught some food
  7. I’m sure I could take you for a boat ride some evening. May not have that warm weather you’re after though! Could be 28 or 78
  8. Hilarious. I fished with a buddy from Florence this evening and tried to tell him this story. I couldn’t stop laughing
  9. Billy westmorland was rumored to have lost a world record size smallie on the jump and would go back after it all the time in the wee hours of the morning on dale hollow
  10. Spool this song up on your baitcaster and give it a cast! Shew buddy!
  11. Currently: Mandolin orange (one of my fishing buddies is in the band) other favorites: CCR balsam range avett brothers Old crow medicine show hot rize not really bands but always worth mentioning: willie Nelson johnny cash hank williams sr
  12. When I was there it seemed like fishing the current breaks in the first few miles below Wilson dam was the thing to do. Granted, we failed miserably, but that’s what everyone said to fish and it’s where everyone was fishing. Tons of eddies, pockets, barge tie-ups, islands, bridge posts, etc. I’ve also heard tale of people fishing the lower end with deeper presentations in cleaner water. On other TN river lakes in winter , I like to fish the creek mouths along current seams And bluff walls. Someone will always be catching lots of fish with red crankbaits during the winter, I’m guessing you’ll see a lot of folks slinging them at the bass master classic this weekend
  13. I feel as though I’ve also heard them called snakes
  14. One guy I watch on youtube says cool instead of cull.
  15. And any soft drink is a coke
  16. No offense but congress just set aside about 30 million dollars for that same project you are working on. It’s not exactly easy. They are just now making their way into the TN river upstream of Kentucky lake if you want to get in on the ground floor somewhere
  17. I was 17 before mom would let me fish the dam alone. And I had fished it my whole life with seasoned anglers in their boats up until that point
  18. The lawyer who jumped off a bridge in Chattanooga drifted 122 miles in 19 days and went thru nickajack and guntersville dams. Unfortunately these boaters are either rotating in the keeper hole, pinned somewhere, or headed to the gulf. The word "lake" is not like what you imagine in Tennessee, it's all a river and it moves really fast in winter
