  1. Now what kind of self respecting fish is turned off by mcmuffins and Gatorade????
  2. Lakes here are unbelievably crowded because of the covid 19
  3. Glad you made it back in! There's already been 3 people this spring that didn't make it out of the water in my area. And that's after the winter floods claimed some folks as well. Things can happen quick out there, you did well. You might want to look into floatation for the rods and reels if you're taking high dollar combos in a kayak. I've seen more combos lost kayaking than I can count
  4. Running that bent rod pattern gave you bad karma! Haha ive posted these pics on here many times. "A bad day fishing is always better than a good day of work" -people that use this phrase have not seen what I've seen. No that is not my truck, I just happened to see this one day. His boat sank too
  5. You were right to be scared!
  6. We did some paddling sunset trips the last two evenings to cope with the Covid
  7. Just keep doing it with spinning gear haha. Skipping with bait caster is tricky, most use a jig with wide trailer. Keep you thumb at the ready and err on the side of caution. Don’t bounce it off the water as early as you would with spinning. Some thread on here I read once, everyone mentioned needing a CV spool to skip a bait caster, whatever the heck that is
  8. They fish it at most clear water smallmouth stops up north. It is used down south as well just not quite as much. In my experience along TN river, it just gets stuck on everything. We have no sand bottom lakes, all rock ledges with logs across everything
  9. I told the guys at the shop if it costs more than $100 to fix to throw it in the river. Sad part is if I threw my harbor freight Chinese motor in the river I could get it out of the water and start it right up
  10. Well I’ve got my neighbors whining about my tall grass for the second year in a row thanks to the fine folks at Briggs while my mower in the repair shop that’s backed up for weeks !!! So I’m really happy for you guys...... hahaha....... like I said they don’t make them like they used to......... wish I could afford Honda. The next logical step for me is buy one of those mowers without a motor
  11. I use about Any species of wood that’s not pine, I’ve had surprisingly good pork using Bradford pear. And it’s always available because they always fall over
  12. Some pretty methed up stuff in this series!
  13. Yeah we are getting a decent amount of calls, people are sitting at home and realizing animals live in their home. Only problem is they won’t stay the heck away from us!!! A coworker and I both tried to stay 6 feet away from customers and they kept getting too close over and over and over.
  14. Well I bought a push mower late last summer and mowed like 4 times with it. This year it won’t start. Drained the gas put in fresh, cleaned off the spark plug, sprayed starter fluid, nothing. They also make engines a lot %#€&&)) er than they used to be!!!! I’ve pulled the freaking rip cord about ten million times until I was ready to pour gas on the thing, strike a match, and shove it in the river!!!!! If only Americans could make as good a motor as Japan........ I’m sick of wasting my money on Briggs and Stratton. My Honda clone predator engine on my swamp boat has sat for years at a time and works like a charm. My buddy has the same engine that he sank in the river, it runs like a top
  15. The fishes appear to be moving shallow and feeding
  16. @Fairtax4me, nice fish! It appears we suck at social distancing in East Tennessee. Kindness may indeed kill us
  17. In TN it's a 10" minimum for keeping. So I keep any over 10" haha
  18. Nice one! I caught a 28” once that weighed about half as much as yours haha. It looked like a skinny snake
  19. That’s crazy about the catfish, those things are tough as nails. As it warms up a lot of fish will have to hit the banks where you are standing, they Won’t lay their eggs where the sun doesn’t hit them. If the water is super clear they can spawn deeper but I’m guessing a large portion of the bass will be in and out of the shallows near the banks in the next month or more in your area
