Its plastic, totally stuck and now stripped. I’ve read that I can get a screwdriver red hot and make a new notch in the plastic?
another buddy said to touch a piece of wire to the hot side of a battery and to the blue wire and it would go up. I tried that right here and it still goes down but not up
And yes that’s a speed limit sign in the background because I can’t get in my friggin driveway with the motor down! At least I made it close to home haha. Yet another dilemma, do I use some kinds of ramps to get it into my driveway where it will be hard to get back out, or do I trailer it to someone’s house that has a clue and can help me without knocking my skeg off on the road?
Update: had a friend of a friend fix the water pump issue. There was an intake mechanism like a small pvc pipe that was cockeyed . This is why the problem lasted 3 water pumps, turns out my 2 year old impeller was in tip top shape. Went trolling at idle speed all evening without an alarm, hadn’t done that in a long time. Hooray! But now the power trim goes down but not up??? Crap. Somehow I made it home without knocking the skeg off but I can’t get into the driveway..... oh boy
I’ve got a feeling they are going to
start making bear season longer around here in the future, those things are causing all kinds of trouble nowadays. There was one eating a dead guy the other day!

They do, you just have to hunt them down. My truck is a V-8 Dodge ram stick shift but it gets 15 miles a gallon on a good day ha ha. I’ve never owned an auto transmission
1985 Nissan pickup. This was before trucks had model names, just pickup. This truck also got 30 mpg, I guess technology is moving backwards because they don’t make a truck that gets that good of mileage now and haven’t in years. The only problem was you had to ciphon gas out of the tank and sprinkle in the carb To get it to start sometimes. And it was a hand me down from my brother, dash was covered in Hawaiian dancing ladies and the back glass was solid stickers
Yeah, this was just stocker rainbows and it was back when the Y2K and San Juan worm were newish (to me anyway). Some of the guides tie only natural drab nymphs and anything else they consider low brow, almost as bad a bait chucking haha. Me, I’ll fish with anything
I’ve eaten them a million times but actually cooked them for the first time this summer. My neighbor gave me a bunch and said “fry them in a skillet like you would fish fillets, just add salt, pepper, and sugar to the cornmeal.” By golly it was delicious, and fish is the only food item I know how to cook
My
buddies used to tie up egg patterns in colors like you have there on the table for pellet fed monster trout. One of the older, more purist type guides walked in and saw all the wild colors on the tying table and said “did Walt Disney barf on here?”
I think we still have mostly the native spots that they call “Kentuckies” with the exception of a few places like nickajack and chickamauga which are very close to Georgia and Alabama. I think fontana lake in NC also has them, which also makes sense because I think they are in several NC lakes. Having fished for Alabama spots in their home waters many times, i wouldn’t be surprised if they took over the world and started eating humans. They are bad to the bone
Reminds me of East TN. Pressure treated wood lasts 10 years here, sometimes less. My buddy was building a fence the other day and said “but this is pressure treated, it should last forever, right?” and we all got a healthy laugh. The only wood that lasts decades around here has to be alive
The vertical rod holders guarantee a broken rod as well as a hook in your thigh when you walk by them. I did have rod holders on the sides years ago but it was also a nightmare, I had to climb down from the casting deck every time I wanted a different rod .
My boat has been alarming at low throttle for 3-4 years but I keep driving it. I think this thread was aimed at me, maybe I’ll go canoe fishing after work this evening hahaha. I don’t know how to fix stuff and I can’t stop fishing, not even for a day. Granted, my motor has been to 3 mechanics and still does the same thing. So why do I run a bad motor? Because it’s sitting there ready to fish and I’ve tried 3 mechanics to fix it
My cell phone works the opposite way. She is always calling, wondering why I’m not at home. We’ve been together 7.5 years and she still doesn’t understand when “just after dark” is
Because this has already happened in real life a million times. People always do this. Success is through the roof, until the day you actually enter the tournament. Then you come in with 0 keepers, it’s almost a guarantee
