  1. 37 degree water and 36 bass??? Awesome day!!!
  2. I love those abu Garcia reels . Baitcasters are for heavier lures, like spinnerbaits, jigs, most crankbaits and top water. The spinning will be better for grubs and weightless worms and inline spinners
  3. The bass police are on their way now
  4. At least you have a roof with a walkable pitch! There’s a lot of super steep ones around here that I imagine people have to hire everything done (including squirrel trapping and bat exclusion by yours truly)
  5. Get the cotton Cordell 2 pack for like 3-4$ and bounce them around on bottom. They usually come loose from most snags but are cheap anyway. I found the best spot of my life with one . You know when you see awesome stuff on the depth finder all the time but never actually catch the fish. Well I saw something good, dropped the spoon, and wham nice smallie. Been camping out right there catching big fish for a couple years now, any lure works but I found them by searching quickly with the spoon. I’ve caught fish with them my whole life but that’s an instance where it helped drop quickly on several spots until I found the magic. Blade bait works the same way
  6. I love trailer on a small hair jig, they were biting this good the other day (1/8 oz). A lot of the crappie guys will put a small curly tail on a hair jig and most striper guys will put a paddle tail or fluke on a big hair jig. The bass guys use fly n rind on bluffs and they catch big time bags
  7. Whopper plopper is the only one I can think of, but I’ve only used the big one. I found a small one in the water the other day so that may change, I’ve seen them caught with the 90
  8. We had my favorite weather today but I didn’t get to fish. Dreary gray skies all day, spitting light rain here and there and about 40-45 degrees . Perfect!!! I bet the smallmouth were stuffing themselves to the gills on shad
  9. There are some big arches in TN! More to come tomorrow......
  10. Wow that’s pretty awesome looking. (Although I know it gets old)
  11. We used to pull it all apart and throw it at each other as kids. It’s like the consistency of brains or something! Very gross haha
  12. Bryozoan, not eggs. A single cell organism.
  13. Sourdough mainline to a beer cheese leader
  14. They law......... I’m going to need some cheese and a few minutes alone with those pretzels
  15. They were frozen and we baked them. Surprisingly tasty
  16. Kind of reminds me of my boat
  17. Malt vinegar last night. Hot sauce is also good
  18. Man they stock monster trout in your lakes!
  19. I would say jerkbait but that may not fly in a cypress swamp. Maybe a fluke instead, and keep after the jig bite. If it falls down enough stumps a bass will eventually slurp it . When I fish cypress down south I use weightless stick worm to avoid hangups
  20. For some reason when I woke up today I felt like I should target smallmouth instead of white bass or trout. I was driving upstream and passed the massive school of white bass without stopping.............. (rare for me) .............. and then I saw an impressive sunrise and knew it would be a good day On my way upstream I saw some repeated splashing like something was busting a shad. I decided to cut the motor and investigate with the jerkbait (rattlin rogue). First cast and BLAM! 19” fat smallmouth. Decided to target smallies and that happens on first cast?? I nearly retired for the day but glad I didn’t. (^same fish in both those pics ) After taking pictures and measurements I motor back upstream to try that again and hook up, a 17-18” looking smallmouth jumps off. A few more drifts and no luck, my buddies say they are upriver a ways so I drive up there to listen to the basketball game with them. They start catching fish immediately while beached to let the dog run, dragging bottom baits. I figure I’ll try the jerkbait, nice fat 17.9999” smallmouth bites it. We floated down a ways, my buddies catching some smaller fish and I hooked up a big one on a jointed swimbait that pulled off. Picked the rogue back up and got dinner ! my buddies took off and I tried dragging one more spot with one of @Bluebasser86shakey heads and hooked up another 19” (^same fish in the last two pics ) got soaked With rain on the way back to the ramp but it was worth it
  21. All of them work very well. I used some rage tail crappie grubs one time and they were thumping them! Menace is my favorite so far
  22. Only got to fish maybe 1 full hour but they were chomping . Used a spoon I found in an antique tackle box my fiancé’s mom bought on Lake Michigan
  23. Mine seems all good! The extender on your boat was most likely created to make the boat run shallower, I’d base your decision on what motor and where you fish. They also might have had a 20” shaft outboard and the extension was to marry that up
