  1. Took my tiny Jon boat all the way to lake fork for spring break senior year of college with nothing but a trolling motor. Camped for a few days then hit a lake down around college station. Little did we know that both the spares tires we had wouldn’t fit on the 1957 boat trailer, luckily I didn’t find that out until years later and the drive went smoothly (something like 18 hours back to Knoxville from college station )
  2. Gotcha, thanks buddy!
  3. Ditto
  4. If you don’t mind my asking, Which part of tourney fishing is it that you don’t like? Or why don’t you fish more of them? Seems like you would win a bunch of them
  5. Sushi is great when you have too much money in your pockets . It’ll drain them quick and you’ll still be hungry , ready to spend more!
  6. I fish out of my papaw’s 1957 Cherokee . My mom used to “wake surf” behind it on a sheet of plywood when she was little
  7. USC was the best team ever too....... then Texas beat them in the rose bowl and they weren’t even champs
  8. If I thought it would make a difference, I still wouldn’t ! Haha. I’m fishing for fun not baking a cake
  9. Old timers around here call 4 lb test smallmouth fishing “Bar (bear) huntin’ with a switch.” Doesn’t seem like enough weapon but it sure works sometimes. I think they got the idea from watching crappie fisherman catch big smallmouth (and be mad about it) disclaimer: I do not recommend hunting bears with a switch
  10. I’m still using all mono except the frog, mostly eagle claw brand. I swear I think it was like $3 for 1500 yds , I bought it a long time ago and don’t know if I’ll ever use it all haha. The stuff is strong, I can usually pull my boat over to the snag when I get stuck with 6 lb on spinning rod. I still use 20 lb mono for top water sometimes, it helps when battling 20”+ smallmouth. I use 12 lb mono for most of my baitcasters, it works for just about everything (Texas rig, jerkbait, topwater, rattle trap, etc)
  11. Sound advice. I’ve heard of several boats running aground already this winter
  12. Amen brother . My two favorite times to fish are when it’s raining and when it’s not raining......
  13. I don’t allow weather to determine my comfort level. I’ve got sunscreen just like I’ve got thermals everyone’s favorite season is the one with the most big bass
  14. It’s my fav! Smallmouth love it
  15. Go get em catt!!!
  16. One of the you tube fishermen I watch got a spine stuck in his hand that is still there according to x ray
  17. Yes the gulls will be diving when the time is right, throw a spoon into the frenzy. Creeks vs main river is always dependent on all kinds of things, definitely try both . Jerkbait and swimbait are always good options for me, although I don’t fish down on chickamauga often. Lots of fish are caught there with jerkbaits
  18. We are getting snow again
  19. I wish winter was all year long
  20. Only got one fish today , tough sledding
  21. You were vers-a-tile
