  1. Wow!!! They should have snow in cypress swamps more often the way that looks!
  2. Stopped in to the perch spot on lunch. After 2-3 perch a visitor came right up to me and asked for some
  3. I scare those away with the bottom of my boots. They never come back after that. But they do have a nasty habit of sending reinforcements
  4. Wow. The farthest I’ve ever moved is 1 county over. And unless something crazy happens, I believe that’s how it will remain
  5. Clearly you haven’t watched jaws in a while
  6. I’ve seen them smashing shad on top in 47 degree water. They can’t help but hit a spook or pop R if they are in the right mood. They also smash it when the water is 80 degrees at noon in ankle deep water
  7. Come on back!! So you’ve got coal dust in your lungs too?? We always poke fun at the state of Kentucky but it is quite lovely as far as scenery and definitely has a nice cold winter to remind you of home. It also doesn’t have much human activity, The guys that live there might be trying to keep it a secret Haha. You can probably get a lot nicer house and way more land for your money there
  8. It rarely gets above 95 here, most years it doesn’t go much above 88. I think it gets much hotter in parts of The Midwest than around my house. There have actually been people get hypothermia in August in the smoky mountains. Also my brother lives in philly and it can great really sticky hot there.
  9. Sanibel is awesome!
  10. Riots and protests in the south are centered around football games
  11. They make plenty of drunk juice in 55 gallon drums in East Tennessee too haha You’re moving?? Wheeler could rent you his guest room in hixson haha
  12. Grainy work phone pic .
  13. That’s the one! I guarantee I fished all around that dude for years before his demise. Got lots of pictures the crazy thing? She killed it with a .20 gauge ! Looks to me like that animal would eat a box of 20 gauge shells for breakfast
  14. Hank 3 Might be the craziest of the Williams and that’s saying something!! That being said I like cash’s version of that song a tad better
  15. I will admit there are some crazy folks ‘round here! Haha
  16. I sure don’t but plenty of spots are caught cranking along the rip rap below the dam. You might have to sort through a lot of drum to find the big bass haha. I think the big smallies are always biting there but it’s usually 1 or maybe 2 if you’re lucky
  17. In all seriousness: I fish one week a year around monster alligators in south Alabama. They killed the world record where we camp, ive posted the pic many times but you can google World record alligator and see it. Normally I would say kayak away and don’t worry about them, the big ones are always just laying there. I’ve got lots of pics of 12+ foot ones right next to the boat. BUT THEN THERE WAS THIS ONE TIME........... I saw one monster gator have some kind of dispute with an egret and started that rumbling sound that splashes water off its back. The egret starts squawking and flapping, they are pretty much face to face. we freaked out and forgot to film anything but sheeeeesh that sound scared the heck out of me, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up and I don’t even have hairs on the back of my neck. I might still kayak down there but that sure made me have second thoughts. I’d be worried about the gator and end up paddling into a hornets nest, it’s always something down there! what you really need to watch out for is “Florida man”
  18. I’ve seen swindle tip it in videos and refer to it as “old school” jig fishin’.
  19. I haven’t ran one personally but I know a guy that used some and he said they work fine. People hit lots of logs around here
  20. Do anything except go to Florida?
  21. They don’t report temp but usgs does for creeks and smaller rivers. The TN river in Knox is low-mid 40s on the surface by afternoon, it may be colder down toward pickwick with the recent snap they’ve had. I would guess around 40
  22. Well as road warrior fishes below a dam, that’s inflow and outflow and the very same moment for two different reservoirs. Below wilson dam, the volume reading is outflow for Wilson and inflow for pickwick. Of course you will have some other inflows from creeks and smaller river before it gets down to Pickwick dam. When it floods, they attempt to hold back water and “store” it in the lakes , that’s why they lower them in winter because it rarely floods any other time of year. The lowered lake leaves room to store flood waters , it’s the only reason people can build stuff near the water haha. The only historic real estate before the dams was on high ground, like Memphis which is on a bluff Here’s a visual of pickwick lake levels, green line is last year blue line is this year
  23. That’s a better explanation than anything I could come up with
  24. One and 19 moooore.........
  25. I know of a time when it got colder but you’ll have to check the cave walls instead of pen/paper glad you’re still eating!
