I think this was the attempted maneuver

Since white bass were biting I figured I would try some different lures. I have never caught anything with an Umbrella rig (hadn’t tried much) and hadn’t caught anything with my KVD deep jerkbait. Got several with each, then found some on a drop off on my way back to the ramp that would pin a spoon against the bottom , pretty fun The xzone swimbait hooked probably 12 or 13 out of 15 fish I caught with the umbrella rig, i put it on the longest arm. We can only have 3 hooks on it and I felt a lot of fish slam it and not hook up, I guess they hit the curly tail dummy baits

We only had about an hour of daylight to fish in the rain but the big white bass were angry and I scored dinner. I only kept the smallest ones we caught, and ironically the biggest one I kept was a male. Blackened fish with old bay and butter mmmmmmm Also it was 60 degrees and I wore flip flops..........

Bigger minnows might not fit into the funnel on the trap. My first fishing experiences were catching creek chubs with rod and reel, they love bread corn and worms and even rooster tails

Cherokee lake is 30 feet low for 7-8 months out of the year, I imagine a boat lift wouldn’t be possible there, you see a lot of docks out in the middle of the mud flats all winter. Chickamauga only goes down about 7-8 feet and is only lowered for about 6 months, lots of people use lifts there. Chickamauga is also the most crowded/heavily fished lake you will find outside of California if I had to guess. Property on Cherokee should be more affordable as it’s kind of in the middle of nowhere. Parts of chickamauga are in the middle of nowhere too but the lower end is more populous. Might want to check into watts bar lake one thing you will enjoy about the south is the humans, they are typically very friendly you can’t hide from Uncle Sam!

Well it’s not a true alternator but I think it’s pushing out nothing, although in ohms it’s only reading 1/10th of an ohm out of specified range Me thinks stator and alternator do the same thing, but a stator is spinning magnets inside the flywheel that generate electricity. Then the rectifier converts it to Charging power for the battery. I want to say they are kind of pricey

I think at this point I may just replace stator and see if that does it . @galyonjsays he doesn’t like throwing parts at things but at this point I think we’ve reached a dead end

My big charger will go 2 amp, 10 amp, 40 amp, or 200. I’m guessing bulk is 40? the weird thing was battery #2, a dual purpose, started the motor fine also but wouldn’t “charge” while running (like the stator/alternator isn’t working)

Yes then it starts slowly going down to about 12.2-12.4 while running in driveway. On the river it will go for about and hour then doesn’t want to start. When I get back home it’s usually 11.9 or so. It actually gains voltage just sitting there, loses it while engine runs

I’ve also charged it recently with a big charger on wheels, it seems to charge fine unless the motor is running, which drains it. but replacing the battery sure would be the easiest route . last night we hooked it up to another dual purpose battery and the same thing seemed to happen (I think)

A bent rod absorbs a lot of the pressure/weight that would be placed on the line. When you grab the line by hand to pick up the fish, now all the weight is on the line. I’ve seen the line snap when lifting a fish by grabbing the line many times, and I’ve snapped it myself a few times, mostly with big crappies using 4 lb line
