  1. Interesting. Is the attached a spotted bass or red eye? My Dad and I were debating this a few months back.
  2. ^ This I have very rarely caught bass that are visibly roaming around like that. The most memorable was a 4-5lber roaming around my local park. I spotted her waay off and got bit by running spinnerbait straight into her.
  3. We're not immune down here either. Southern Pike are all up in my local reservoir. Not as many in the delta though.
  4. Make sure your crank runs deep enough to make contact with (or very close to) the bottom for your target depth. There's a gin-clear deep reservoir where I live. Only decent fish I've caught there on a crankbait was on a Strike King 6XD. I trolled around for a long while looking for fish, & finally spotted some around 17ft. I caught one long-lining the 6XD through that 17ft section.
  5. Congrats! I know your heart was pounding outta your chest when you saw that one. My exact personal best as well
  6. Had same thing happen to me throwing a spinnerbait at the city park. Slid up the line, but thankfully the hook didn't set when it made contact w/ him. Funny thing is though right after that, it changed it's flight path and came right at me, lol. I thought I was about to throw down with this goose; had my rig turned around ready to bata-bata-swing. It changed directions right before it got to me tho.
  7. Thanks for the input guys. I've got a shad pattern chatterbait so I'll try it in a few locations I've been catching on crankbaits.
  8. I only recently discovered this, but yeah frogs can be super aggro. Here's a good vid of big one going after it. instagram.com/p/BIWO4KWgkFg
  9. Rapala Countdown CD7 1/4oz black/silver. This bait is a work-horse.
  10. I recently bought a couple chatterbaits but haven't had much luck with them yet. What's everyone's experience with these VS spinnerbaits? I'm guessing any situation where I might throw a spinnerbait is where I'd throw a chatterbait? Is this pretty close to the mark? What's y'all's take? Also, does blade color matter much on them (e.g. shinny gold/silver VS flat black/brown)?
  11. My biggest summer bass this year have mostly been caught on this silent Luck-E-Strike Rick Clunn Square Bill Crankbait on 6-8ft ledges.
