  1. My Brother in Law ,gave me his old Gamefisher outboard, but the starter rope is frayed. I checked, and Sears no longer makes the part. Anyone know of an after market company that can help me out? Thanks Joe
  2. This is my first foot control trolling motor, and out of the box it seems very stiff. I can see that a full day on the water would be like a long session of leg lifts! Would loosening the cable a bit with the Phillips head screw help, and how much can I safely loosen it. Also, can the pedal be greased with a lithium product? Thanks for your help Joe
  3. Finally got it to work. Had to remove motor from base. Then, the arm swung freely, and worked fine after reinstalling motor. I still can't figure out why, but hey, it works.
  4. Nothing in the manual about one, but that doesn't mean there's not something obstructing it. I will check it . Thanks
  5. Just unboxed this motor, placed it on the bow, undid the strap and pulled the cord to deploy it, as per the instructions, and nothing. The bar just wont move. Since its not tied to the deck yet, I can't really try to horse it up, but I can't mount it until I deploy it and am sure there is ample room. Anyone ever have this problem? Thanks Joe
  6. Glad you mentioned that. I had planned to power the finder from the cigarette adapter on the trolling motor battery box. Appreciate the heads up
  7. Yes, I am using the trolling motor transducer mounting kit from Lowrance. My concern is whether turbulence from the turning prop will affect the transducer performance when the motor is running. My first finder, so I have no experience with this.
  8. I have a stern mounted 55lb. thrust Minn Kota on my Sun Dolphin Pro 120 and presently have the transducer attached to the motor. Is the moving prop going to cause the transducer to work improperly? I have a stern saver mounting kit, and can install the transducer to that if need be. It is dead of winter here, so putting the boat in the water is not possible. Would appreciate your advice. Best to all Joe
  9. Just bought a new Sun Dolphin Pro 120 and after registering it and receiving my hull I'd numbers, I am faced with the problem of keeping them on that polyurethane hull that doesn't like anything at all sticking to it. Any plastic hull owners out there figure out how to get them to stick? Thanks
  10. Thanks, WIGUIDE, I decided to contact their customer service, and they responded very quickly and set my fears aside. Love everything about this boat. Hayneedle seems to have the best deal. Looks like I will go with the Pro 120. Thanks agaain Joe
  11. Thanks for all the input. Probably will go with this boat, though it is more than I want to spend. I will post a review in the future if I pull the trigger. Unfortunately, the boat I really want, the sun dolphin 120 pro, which has everything I want, also, according to many owners, has a serious build issue. Apparently, the seam between the hull and deck are sealed with glue and staples. Over time, the glue dissolves and the staples rust, causing water to get between the double hull, making it hard, if not impossible to remove the water. The fix, according to reviews, would be to manufacture the seam using a heat weld instead. I know nothing about heat welds, but I think the 120 is an awesome boat, but I consider the water problem to be a major design flaw, and I have to consider other options. Best regards Joe
  12. My apologies if this topic has been covered before, but if anyone has experience with the x10 twin troller, I would appreciate your opinions . The boat is small, but stability is a primary concern, ( ain't getting any younger) and the makers claim that this boat is as stable as they come. Thanks Joe
