  1. Ok thanks!
  2. On Google Maps. pier j seems to be a shipping container area? However, there are two jetties that are shaped like flipped "L"s. Also, in Newport, the outside of the bay seems to have piers and the smaller surf jetties. Were you talking about those? Sceen-shots would be appreciated! Thanks. EDIT: my mistake, a bit northwest of the bay. Also, sorry for posting these late at night, I have absolutely no time to check (yay weekend)!
  3. Cool, gonna try that this weekend! Anywhere else/species most abundant there?
  4. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but has anyone been near Huntington Beach/Newport Beach jetties and fished them? I live in Fullerton (so inland!!!!) and driving the all the way to seal or long beach is a pain. I was planning on going there and throwing some 3" big hammers but I'm not sure. Also, what rigs do you guys use? I usually just freeline or a small leader. Also- I've seen the tiny jetties on the coast of Newport, but there are no results on those whatsoever.
  5. Well unlike the east coast jetties which hold a lot of BIG species (lucky), SoCal inshore jetties hold fish that can be big, but most of the time, they're usually 8 inches to about a foot. 2 feet at maximum from what I've seen people haul out. Do you only use braid, no leader? What lures do you use?
  6. Hi guys! I started fishing ever since i was 7. I'm a newbie and I use spincast sometimes but mostly spinning. Bass fishing is fun and I've caught a few at Big Bear Lake. However, I have no real knowledge of specific rigs and setups. This forum looks really promising when i need help, i'll be looking forward to it!
  7. Hi, newbie here. I like saltwater fishing a lot (and of course freshwater) but i'm kinda new at it. What rod length/reels size is good for fishing? I will be fishing on jetties most of the time. From experience what is your favorite lure to use (bait can get NASTY). I'm not targeting anything specifically, but i've seen people bring in calico bass, opaleye, blacksmith (rare), and surfperch.
