Two or three times a week as long as weather permits. Is side imaging worth the extra money? I fish shallow water. I guess you can tell what my budget is as I'm fishing from a 10 foot jon boat.
I have a small jon boat with an electric motor and fish small lakes that are no more than 10 feet deep. Should I get a fish finder and if so what kind? Is a side imaging model worth while or should I get something basic? I am trying to locate structure and deeper spots in muddy water most of the time.
I just wanted to share that my friend and I had a great trip. We caught about 140 smallmouth during an 8 hour trip with a guide suggested on this website Susquehanna Smallmouth Guide. We had Joe and he was great. Also his boat was the perfect setup. I learned a lot and had a great time. Of course my buddy caught 4 that measured 20 inches and I lost 2 that looked that big. We plan on going again. Thanks to who ever posted the info last fall. I never would have gone without that post.
I use a small barrel swivel on the end of my braid and tie 1 foot of 30 lb mono. I guess i'm lazy but it works for me. I only have to deal with pickerel.
We haven't had a good quaterback in years. The eagles usually do what Clevland did and make the wrong move. Maybe some day the eagles will win their first superbowl. I need hope considering the other Philly teams records. lol
I use a general rule of thumb around dusk and dawn I will throw topwater just about anywhere. Later in the day I throw close to cover. The only difference is I fish in water that is no deeper than 8 feet. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the great advice. I will switch out the hooks and check for split rings. I am using 14# mono and I lost both fish on the head shake. The first fish did take drag and the second threw it right away. A lot of fun to throw but I'm still learning to use my baitcaster.
Hello
I 'm new to the forum and need help with losing fish on the zara spook jr. I hooked 2 nice bass and lost both because they threw the hook. I'm keeping my rod tip down but still can't keep them on the line. I didn't know if I could modify the hooks if that would help. Also I am new to baitcasting. Thanks for any advice.
