  1. Don’t know how much help I can be as I am a minimalist when it comes to carrying tackle. I have been using a Mossy Oak Anglers Satchel I got from DSG. https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/mossy-oak-rebel-anglers-satchel-bag-17moaurblstchltcktbx/17moaurblstchltcktbx It it can fit 2 size 3600 tackle trays in the main compartment and 1 size 3500 tackle tray in the front pocket. It has a zippered pouch in the back. I carry an assortment of crankbaits, soft plastics, terminal tackle, scissors, pliers, knife, wacky rig tool, scale, grippers, first aid kit and 2 extendable rod holders in this satchel. I also have a Plano 3500 weekender bag that fits 4 size 3500 tackle trays and has lots of MOLLE and outside mesh pockets for easy access to tools.
  2. I agree. Mine stay in their original bags. I store the bags at home by type (worm, tube, craw, etc) in shoeboxes. When I travel I use a bait binder. I have the Kastking one. Got it for $11 on sale. https://www.amazon.com/KastKing-KKT-KK-Lure-Bag-S-Fishing-Waterproof/dp/B075V6M8CL
  3. I use mono for anything that has a treble hook (Whopper Plopper, crankbaits, jerkbaits, etc.)
  4. Good choice. I took advantage of the same sale. Mine should be here Monday or Tuesday. Those half heads are already a dollar cheaper than the Z-man Shroomz catching them on a sale is a rare treat.
  5. I use mostly 1/8 oz weights for Dropshotting and I like to stay under $5 for them. I find Woo Tungsten to have great prices. $4.29 for a 4 pack.
  6. With no hesitation I would get the Lew’s Custom Black combo. $279 https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/lews-team-lews-custom-black-baitcasting-combo-18lewutmlwscstmblcoma/18lewutmlwscstmblcoma First baitcaster combo from Lew’s that features an aluminum frame reel. I am anxious to see how that vibration transfer ring on the rod works.
  7. It’s taking all my willpower to resist buying that 3700 A series bag for $29 normally $79 I have a $10 reward card so I can get if $19 I keep telling myself that it’s way bigger than I like to take as I am a minimalist. It irks me the 3600 A series is the same discounted price of $29 normally $49 as the 3700 A I use the Mossy Oak Rebel Anglers Satchel most of the time. It fits everything I need. DSG has it on sale every once in a while for $7 and that’s how much I paid https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/mossy-oak-rebel-anglers-satchel-bag-17moaurblstchltcktbx/17moaurblstchltcktbx?enteredSearchTerm=rebel satchel My wife gets a laugh when she sees me take it with me. She calls it my fishing pocketbook.
  8. A trip to Florida (in February) to fish. I will be climbing the walls by then with cabin fever here in the frozen North.
  9. The little memory issues I have with Big Game on baitcasters is solved with a little KVD line and lure or Reel Snot application. I am skeptical about using it on spinning gear as well. I prefer 8# Sufix Elite mono for my spinning gear.
  10. 12-15lb Big Game sounds good. I even use 10lb from time to time as I try to get away with the smallest diameter line I can. I fish clear waters so I like lighter, clear line.
  11. If you posted those pics to Facebook it would go viral I am sure. Crazy pic. Glad both were ok. My prediction is the smaller Bass wants to be a Dentist when he grows up. He was getting a close up look at the bigger Bass' molars.
  12. Sorry, I have only used this stuff on spinning reels. I use KVD line and lure conditioner or Reel Snot on it. Seems to help with the stiffness.
  13. I save the pieces for the good ole Ned Rig or jig trailers. The bands have helped me make a GYBC bait last a whole lot longer. The fact that they keep the Bass from shaking them off alone makes them worth their weight in gold. I understand the T-rigging though. I read somewhere that it's Gary's favorite way to rig and he designed them for that specific purpose.
  14. Since this thread started I have purchased a Pisicfun line spooler. Works for spinning and BC. For spinning reels the spool spins to reduce line twist. I like it but it comes with no directions. There are plenty of YouTube vids on how to load and operate the device. I find it works best with line that comes on larger spools, like Suffix Elite.
  15. Cyber-Monday Cabela's sale plus free shipping. I couldn't resist picking up 8 packs of their 3/16 oz Bed Jig's and 60 BPS Stik-O worms. Total cost $30
  16. If you are concerned with their durability I wouldn't purchase one. Replacing the same rod four times is the reason that lifetime warranty went bye bye.
  17. Blasphemy!! Burn the witch!
  18. Lew's is a confusing brand. They make a lot of store exclusive reels for places like Dick's, Bass Pro and even Walmart. This appears to be a Bass Pro exclusive. It's built on their SLP frame and has lots of bells and whistles (dual brakes, clickable tension control, 14 pounds of drag) I wouldn't buy it at full price but the $80 sale price is decent.
  19. I think you found a winner. Get the Tournament MB and spool it with Berkley Trilene Big Game 12# mono while learning how to cast. This is a great reel for beginners and those experienced with baitcasters.
  20. I have the LFS and the Tournament MB. Both are great reels but the Tournament MB is the superior reel. Get a Tournament MB you won't regret it.
  21. Grats on the PB!
  22. Usually 10# or sometimes 12#
  23. Berkley Trilene Big Game mono or Kastking Flourokote is what I have on my baitcasters.
  24. The weightless wacky with a weedless hook would be my first choice. A slow falling stickbait, like a Yum Dinger is a must in this setting.
