  1. Just an observation. I noticed about a month ago Kastking has parted ways with a lot of their YouTube sponsored fishermen. EPF, Debo’s, Catterman, etc. They seem to have kept Kaptains Korner with Capt. Mikey ?
  2. Z-man Hulastickz in green pumpkin. Had a lot of success with this bait on a split shot rig over the summer
  3. I have the same device. I will have to keep a lookout for what you experienced. Thanks for the heads up.
  4. Shrimp scampi and raviolis. Tullamore Dew on the rocks. Italian and Irish heritage.
  5. You guys have made me really consider going out and getting a bucket hat
  6. I have bought and used reels from all the big and small brands. Over the years I have had my favorite brands shift. Over the past two years all the reels I have bought have been from Lew’s and Kastking. I really like Lew’s products and my mission this year is to upgrade all my budget gear with Lew’s reels in the $100+ range. I have a good start with the Mach Crush reels (spinning and casting) Tournament MB, LFS and the Tournament Speed Spin. That should get me through 2019 and beyond.
  7. I use rod leashes I bought from Amazon. They work pretty good, I am not a fan but I dropped a rod overboard and was lucky enough to retrieve it. Didn’t want to take the chance again.
  8. Someday people will be having the same conversation about Mars...
  9. I Not a fan of this idea for a number of reasons, most of which were already mentioned. Swivel through guides is asking for damaged guides. A swivel small enough to fit through micro guides can't be that strong. 3 knots three chances for failure. That swivel has to get caught in a guide during casts, hello backlash. I worry a lot about connecting lines. I solve that problem by running straight Fluoro.
  10. I use Arkie Jerky Head jigheads found in Walmart for less than $3
  11. I believe this is true. I have LOTS of hats but I wear the same 3 all the time when I go fishing. They are my lucky caps.
  12. So true. Material things come and go but your body is with you a lifetime. We sometimes take better care of our worldly possessions like cars and boats then we do our own bodies. This time of year is especially hard for me. Lot's of birthdays and glut holidays between October and January. I have to up the steps per day and push-ups to keep from gaining too much weight. 6 pounds are not as easy to shed as they once were.
  13. Same here! Years ago I bought this tool to put a curve in any brim.
  14. For those that are interested: Trucker hat = Mesh backed baseball cap Flexfit = Baseball cap with a nylon band that gives the hat a fitted look. Flat brimmed = Baseball cap with a flat, not curved brim Snapback = Baseball cap with a plastic band on the back that snaps closed to loosen or tighten Hook and loop = Baseball cap with a Velcro band to loosen or tighten I spent to much time and money in Lids...
  15. My son. I am always happy when he wants to trade the X-box for a tackle box.
  16. No option for snapback or hook and loop closure so I picked flex-fit. I wear trucker style when the weather is 90+ degrees here. I wear a ball cap when fishing. Not the best choice for sun protection as they don't cover your ears. I can't bring myself to wear a bucket hat. I hope my vanity doesn't cost me dearly someday. Thank goodness for buffs. They help cover the areas a ball cap misses.
  17. 1st scenario the scales make me think you might have foul hooked something. 2nd scenario seems like a samurai hookset. Biggest enemy of hooks is jaw-jacking hooksets.
  18. That's all my Dad wants as well. Thank goodness since he has expensive taste and my bonus is spent already.
  19. Spartacus Maximus is the only KK reel with just centrifugal brakes. The original Maximus not the new seafoam green one. Never buy any reel at full cost is my motto. That includes KK reels.
  20. I like it. Almost exactly like what I carry. Rebel Mossy Oak anglers satchel. Got it for $6.98 from Dick's during a flash sale. It fits 2 size 3600 boxes in the main compartment and 1 3500 in the front. It came with 1 3600 box.
  21. I was referring to Favorite rods not Shimano. But I get the point.
  22. Sorry for the late response. They are the same formula, only the scent is different. If you like the smell of oranges go with the original. If you like the smell of vanilla and powder go with the bourbon. Bourbon Cremo is a Walmart exclusive if I am not mistaken.
  23. I like the Lew's Carbon Fire rods, exclusive to Dick's sporting goods. This whole month they have been on sale for $39 Nice Winn Grip handles on them. Pretty strong as well. I have caught Channel Cat's in the 3 pound range on my medium light version while fishing a Ned rig. Abu Garcia Vengeance is another solid choice at $49
  24. That's exactly what I use my Speed Demon for. Helps me cover a lot of water. I had 2 occasions last year where I wish I had the faster reel. I was reeling Smallmouth Bass in and both times they swam left towards submerged timber. Couldn't reel fast enough to stop them from getting tangled in the wood.
  25. I have seen these at Dick's. They look nice and sturdy. You should be happy with it unless you want to take a lot of gear. The price can't be beat, especially if you got it on a flash sale. I had my eye on the Kastking pond hopper sling bag. https://www.amazon.com/KastKing-Hopper-Fishing-Tackle-Storage/dp/B07F2GM3NQ I like the molle straps in the front above a slash pocket. perfect for carrying tools. Problem is I won't pay $40 for it when there are cheaper, serviceable options like this Ugly Stick bag
