  1. I will be in Florida mid February and all the setups I am taking will either have straight mono or Fluoro-hybrid 8-15# line.
  2. If I were on death row I would order this menu for my last meal. Why? cause I could die happy after that.
  3. That has to work, he is fishing and praying at the same time!
  4. Buffalo wings Nachos and chili cheese dip Beer That's all I need for a great Superbowl menu. Oh and some Rolaids for later.
  5. Some of my favorite hooks. Wicked sharp and the price is great.
  6. I watched a video yesterday on YouTube. Two guys catching fish on a half frozen golf course pond using drop shots. It it was the only thing they tried that worked. It will be in my arsenal once we have ice out.
  7. Snowing here right now. 10-16” before it ends at 4am then comes the cold. -5 degree low for tomorrow
  8. Sorry for your loss. Such a cool name.
  9. Speedy Madewell, that's quite a name. If that were my name I would become a tire manufacturer or create a fast food franchise.
  10. My Lew's Mach Crush combo rod is the exact same rod as brick and mortar sells. I don't think they sell the Mach Crush rod separately anyway.
  11. Make sure you save them somewhere where they won't burn up with the rest of your fishing gear...
  12. I buy new rods and reels every year. I love buying fishing gear almost as much as fishing itself, maybe more. I give away older combos to friends and people I work with that have kids. Some I keep even if I don't use them much any more. I have some Shimano spinning reels from the 80's and 90's. My oldest rod is from the 90's as they don't last as long as reels do. I do have an old Mitchell 300 all metal reel that I used when I was a kid. Still works fine other than some chipped paint.
  13. I find crocs are slippery only when the tread wears off the bottom. I wear the Classic Croc's because the roomy fit Crocs are the most comfortable for me. The bottoms on those are not the greatest for grip. They do have "offroad" Crocs with soles made for hiking if you are worried about slipping. Those are made in their relaxed fit. Not a fan as the size 11 are to small for me and the size 12 are too big. The curse of having half size feet over 10.
  14. If any of you have K-Mart store around you they are unfortunately going out of business. The fishing section in mine was marked down 30% off everything. I cleared them out of $2 Z-Man Chatterbaits and $4 Berkley Warpigs and Squarebulls.
  15. How about Crocs and socks? Works for me, even when kayaking in September and October. I dry my feet after launching, then put on the socks. Crocs are awesome on the water footwear. Comfortable. No worries about getting them wet. They kick off easy in case you tak an accidental dip. Bank fishing it’s jeans and boots for me even in 90 degree heat. One bout of poison ivy/oak was all it took. I make sure I am covered from insects and vegetation.
  16. Such a tragedy. I wear mine at all times while boating or kayaking.
  17. When Kayaking I want to be seen by other boaters. My kayak is lime green, rods are bright colors as well as my paddle. I have a ultra loud whistle around my neck for colorblind boaters. Bright unnatural colors have had no effect on my fishing while kayaking in gin clear waters. I have had Bass chase lures right to the side of my kayak. Bank fishing I wear colors that blend into my surroundings as I have spooked shallow Bass at times. I think it was from noise and vibration from my walking more than what I was wearing.
  18. All my Kastking Rods were ordered from Amazon. They come directly from Kastking in Garden City NY Kastking rod shipping is rock solid. Cardboard tube with foam inserts to protect butt and tip. That tube is then placed inside a rectangular cardboard box with paper inserted to keep the tube from shifting inside the box.
  19. My suggestion is the Lew’s LFS or try to find the Lew’s Tournament MB on sale for $100
  20. Northern Capital region got 2 feet of snow over the weekend. Yesterday the temps were in the mid 40's and over an inch of rain. Melting snow and the rain combined for some local flooding. Last night temps dipped into the low 20's and it all froze up. I can deal with snow, but ice and floods...fuggedaboutit.
  21. Great advice. I like to lift the spoon above the school and let it flutter down into them method. Kastmaster, Phoebe and Johnson Silver Minnows are my spoons of choice for this method.
  22. No I didn't. Kastking has random things on sale all the time. The key is clicking on the Kastking link on the right ----------> Then click on the words fishing reels, then spinning reels and it will bring you to thumbnails of all their spinning reels. From there you will see if a reel has a sale or coupon going on. for example when I did this now I see the Sharky 3 baitfeeder reel has a 15% off coupon and the Emerald Valiant Eagle has a 5% off coupon. Also keep an eye out for sales on Kastking Ebay. The 500 series is going to run you $21 and some change with free shipping on Amazon. It's cheap enough before a sale.
  23. Awesome. You won't be disappointed. I was surprised at the quality of this reel and I got my 3000 model under $20 on sale. And for the record I had the Shimano Sienna and still own a Pflueger Trion rear drag model with a wooden handle knob that cost $49 when it was released.
