  1. I have the Pelican Tracker Angler 100 and it weighs 38lbs not 28lbs. Sorry for the mistake. It's a basic Kayak with no bells or whistles but it will get me on the water easier than any other option. The seat is ergonomically shaped and I am able to sit comfortably in it for over 3 hours with no pain or issues.
  2. I would recommend the Lew’s Tournament MB LFS $135 around $100 on sale. Aluminum frame and dual brakes. I like my LFS reels over my SLP ones, exception is my Mach Crush SLP. It might be the Winn knobs but I like that reel a lot.
  3. I’d rather watch a YouTube video of someone fishing with a chicken nugget than Greys Anatomy. My wife definitely does not agree.
  4. Palomar knot is easy to learn and tie directly on your hooks.
  5. No worries. The point is that plenty of companies out there continue after their founder passes. My 15 year old son would say some are being “salty” for no reason. Perception can really hurt a company without actually experience with CS or the products. So Lew’s is owned by a private group. The history of the name means something to the group and those that work for the company. The only way to really know is through experience. I have experienced nothing but quality customer service through Lew’s. The products I have purchased have been some of the best I have used. I am over a half century old and I have use products from Daiwa, Shimano, Pflueger, Quantum, etc. you can take that for what it’s worth.
  6. I agree with your disagreement. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Lew’s customer service. From small things like getting a replacement badge that fell off my reel to ordering spare spools. They respond to emails in less than 24 hours. I have talked to the USA staff on a few occasions and they are polite and helpful. What more could you want in a product or service. Died in 1977...
  7. Same shock I had last year visiting Indiana and learning that I can buy a bottle of Jack Daniels in a Walmart! Crazy laws from state to state...
  8. Thanks @fishballer06 that’s what I meant by beverage control. My first night on vacation there I went on a wild goose chase to get some beer and whiskey. Gas station was a no go. Supermarket would only sell me 2 six packs and the liquor part of the supermarket closed before I got there. Some resteraunts will sell you a six pack to go after you eat there. I found that so strange until I realized you can’t buy beer in the Walmart there ?
  9. I'd hardly call the Googan Squad pros They are the same rod just different color schemes and the squad members name on them. Don't forget their KISS rod! Funny but I can't picture Gene Simmons fishing.
  10. The quickfire is nice but it is the weakest part of the reel. I have had 3 Shimano Syncopate reels over the years. I am on my third one because the quickfire eventually broke on the first two. If they made a reel that cost $100 or more with one they better make that part out of sturdier stuff.
  11. Even got his dear old Dad, Roland using them. Roland drops YouTube videos every Wednesday and Sunday.
  12. BYOB! Pennsylvania is an alcoholic beverage control state. E-Z Pass is a must there as well.
  13. The only size 1000 Shimano reel I have is a TX with Quickfire II It was paired with an old Jarvis Walker rod I had for pond action. It has a long cast spool on it, and casts better than some size 2500 reels I have.
  14. I have seen "partnership" type sponsorships for YouTubers that seem similar to what you have described. They want you to use their equipment but don't mind if you use others for comparison and exposure.
  15. Thanks for the pic. I think he grabbed the wrong rig. That makes more sense than thinking he is purposely misleading us as this hurts his pocket if the sponsoring company finds out. As a sponsor I would want something in the contract that says he is using my baits exclusively but that's another story.
  16. My Lew's Mach Crush Speed Spin combo has become my Ned Rig setup of choice lately. It is 7' Medium Rod and size 300 reel I have spooled with 8# line (mono or fluorocarbon) I used to use a size 100 or 200 reel on a medium light rod. Last year I caught some big Channel Cats on the Ned Rig that made me want to switch to a beefier setup.
  17. Yet another reason besides OCD not to put a Daiwa reel on a Shimano rod... Combos are looking better and better.
  18. The plot to John Wick...
  19. Take what you need to cover the water column. Topwater baits, some crankbaits and squarebills for shallow to deep water and some bottom baits.
  20. Fantastic breed. So lovable, my only complaint is the shedding. They shed a coat of fur a week it seems. I had mine for 15 years before he passed. Haven't had a dog since then. I miss him to this day but I am enjoying my freedom.
  21. 3 degrees here this morning. Welcome back.
  22. I opened mine up after reading this, I have the dial as well and it is set on 3. Sorry for the misinformation. my previous directions were for the brakes on my KK Whitemax.
  23. All of their combos were in the clearance section of my local Walmart...
  24. A stick worm type bait (Senko, Dinger, Shim E Stick, Stik-O, etc.) I would say is universal.
  25. I wacky rig the 3" For the 4" and above I rig the weightless on a 3/0 worm hook. The 4" and above size has a slot cut in it to hide the hook. The tail on the dinger has a great quivering action on the fall when rigged this way. I forgot to mention I do like the Shim E Stick. They have a great anise scent to them.
