  1. Bud Light Hard Soda. Had the Cola tonight. Comes in a variety pack, Cherry Cola, Citrus (lime), Cola, Orange. I like the flavors in that order.
  2. I find this to be very true. I helped my closest friend move more times than I can count. I have moved 4 times in my life and we were “conveniently” (for him) not on speaking terms at those times.
  3. Let’s see… Too lazy to re-tie Not eating or drinking anything before and during a fishing session Too lazy to go kayak fishing on days I can Switching to fishing for panfish too quickly when the Bass bite is slow Bringing too much stuff with me when I really only use 2 or 3 different baits Not taking the time to find a few new spots each year
  4. My favorite time of the day to fish. The peace, the quiet, and usually the solitude. I find most folks don’t get their motors running until after 11am around here.
  5. A medium light Fenwick Eagle is a great choice. The new blue version is stiffer than my old green one.
  6. Touché I can’t speak for Daiwa reels. I only have one Daiwa baitcaster and it’s the Megaforce with the twitching bar.
  7. As other have said, Walmart, Costco and BJ’s vision centers are reasonably priced. Other options: Contact lenses, then you can get any sunglasses you want. Go for new glasses every 2 years. 1st year have insurance cover the regular glasses, 2nd get the sunglasses. My wife and I both carry vision care. I get my glasses covered under my insurance and the sunglasses under hers.
  8. I am not going to debate the issue but I find it hard to believe anyone can go from casting a 3/8 oz lure to a 1/8 oz lure without some adjustment.
  9. I have the Shimano SLX DC. My review would be it’s fantastic. The advantage of the DC technology to me is when you are using 1 baitcaster to throw lures of different weights in the same session. I can tie on a heavy spoon and cast it then cut it off and throw a Ned rig without having to fiddle with the cast control knob. Using Mono, my brakes stay on 2 unless I am throwing something really aerodynamic then I can go down to 1
  10. 6’ 10” Medium Light xtra fast St Croix Bass X rod $120
  11. All those lakes are small enough for me. It’s mainly a fear of the ocean depths. I can be on a boat, but a raft or kayak on the ocean would be out of the question.
  12. I have fears of: Going blind Collapse of society Being eaten alive A planet killer meteor hitting the Earth and a bit of Thalassophobia
  13. Just long enough to reel in any slack and maybe a millisecond to see if the line is moving then swing away!
  14. Bank 2 combos (1 casting, 1 spinning) Kayak 3 combos (2 casting, 1 spinning) Boat 5 combos (3 casting, 2 spinning)
  15. My vote is for the Vanford. Super light and super smooth.
  16. I agree, it’s not a sale. Hopefully it will be marked down further in the months to come. I want to pick up another one. The new Revo X does not appeal to me going to an all graphite frame.
  17. It’s not my go to but it is in my arsenal. It catches lots of fish big and small. If you have issues with it getting hung up, swim it instead of bottom bouncing it. Also use the lighter weight jighead (1/16 to 1/8 oz) with light wire hooks. Get a snag, bend the hook out and get it back. Use pliers to get the hook back in it’s proper shape. If you really get hung up that much use the EWG weedless version. This… Was very attractive to this river Smallie
  18. Tackle warehouse dropped the price of the Revo X to pre-inflation price of $99… St Croix factory store has the Reign rods available again. $75 https://stcroixrodfactorystore.com/products/reign-casting-rod?_pos=2&_sid=8ed31524b&_ss=r&variant=42901284552934 IMO the best rod you will find under $100
  19. Any of the new offerings from Z-Man and Yamamoto would be my favorites
  20. Caught my best river Smallmouth Bass of the year today. A 2 pounder on a 1/16 oz EWG weedless Ned rig drifted and hopped along the current. My combo was a 6’ medium light fast action St Croix Avid rod paired with a 1000 size Shimano Vanford spooled with 6# Berkley Trilene XT. The fight with a fish this size on light gear against the current was one of my top 3 of all time.
  21. So disappointing about the Revo X being Graphite. I love the current Revo X in just about every way but the side plate. I knew they would upgrade in the next gen but graphite is a downgrade in my opinion. I also prefer the murdered out all black look of the previous gen. I might have to buy some of the them when they go on clearance
  22. The future of advanced manufacturing is robotics and 3-D printing. A company will design a reel and techs will code robots to put it together with parts that are 3-D printed. Hopefully US companies, like Lew’s will do that here in the United States. Right now the thought is Doyo designs reels. They show a catalog of all these designs to a company like Lew’s who picks one, let’s say the Doyo Razor and either brands it with their logo and renames it to the Mach Infinity or they tweak it a bit to say it’s their design. A Lew’s LFS and Tournament MP are still great reels even if they were made this way.
  23. A medium action St Croix Triumph spinning rod is hard to beat. I like them so much I have 3 of them. 1,2 and 4 piece versions.
