  1. I have 4 weeks PTO a year and 7 sick days. I can take a day off whenever I want if I give 24 hours notice and there is coverage. I am a manager so I like to lead by example so you won’t see me playing hookie.
  2. What is the price for 1 reel?
  3. I agree with the others. It's a nose heavy bottom bouncer. It's my lipless of choice for river fishing.
  4. That's a great alternative choice. Kastking has a real contender now with the Crixus Armor X IMO. It is an aluminum framed reel with lots of bells and whistles plus Winn Grip knobs for under $90. I could have gotten one for $60 on an inner circle deal. I am kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on that one.
  5. I agree. Pay a little more and get a BB1 or get the G, both have aluminum frames.
  6. Same here. Mine is a sectional fiberglass pole for easy storage.
  7. I love dogs. I had a Pug growing up. My parents bought him for me when I was 7 years old. I am an only child. At the time we lived in a bad neighborhood on the third floor of an apartment building in NY. He was my best and for awhile my only friend. We had so much fun and many adventures over the 15 years he was with me. He died when I was 22. I came home from college and he had a stroke. The stroke paralyzed his back legs but that didn't stop him from using his front legs to crawl to my room to be with me. My parents and I took him to the vet and the news was he would be gone soon due to complications from the stroke so we put him down. Saddest day, week, month of my life. I don't think I ever really recovered from the loss. I am sad when people in my life passed but nothing like this. He was my constant companion. I saw him everyday and he greeted me with joy no matter what mood I was in. I have not had a dog since. At first by choice, now by necessity. My spouse is allergic and she is not a dog lover. She was bit by one when she was a girl and has phobias against strange or stray dogs.
  8. I have a DSG exclusive Pelican Tracker kayak. This will be my fourth year with it. My favorite things about it: Lightweight. At 38 pounds I can lift it with ease and place it on my car roof or hanging brackets in my garage. Fast. Tracks well. I can use it in late fall with a cover. Things I don't like about it: Limited storage Only 2 rod holders Sit in kayak, can't stand in it. Seat can be uncomfortable after 4 hours or more of fishing. While I can upgrade, I find this kayak is fine for what I need. I got it for under $150 and it was money well spent.
  9. You can learn a lot by watching YouTube fishing channels. I like to observe how they work their baits and what they throw under the conditions they are in. I do that a lot with the Kicking Their Bass TV channel. Noah clowns around a lot but he catches big bass. I am impressed with his skipping skills and the way he moves jigs and jerkbaits.
  10. I sometimes use my 7'M TP1 Speed Stick for Ned Rigs. It's labeled "All Purpose" and the tip is plenty soft for that application.
  11. Great pliers! The holes for holding hooks to cinch knots is awesome. I also love the sheath that rotates. My only complaint would be the opening at the bottom of the sheath. The tip of the pliers stick out too far and I have jabbed myself with them quite often. The split ring versions tip comes to a point which makes it worse.
  12. Same here. Fire was a great invention. It’s a shame to waste it and eat your food raw. I miss the fresh seafood I used to have when I lived downstate.
  13. I have lots of pliers from dollar store needle nose to more expensive aluminum ones with carbide cutters. They all work if you keep them oiled and dry. my favorite pairs lately are my Ozark Trail and my Lew’s Xfinity. They both have Winn grip handles.
  14. I replace my trays when the latches fail. Or when the plastic becomes so scratched and opaque I can’t stand looking at them anymore. Even cheap ones from field and stream last me for years. I am careful to dry my hooks with a clip on towel I carry before they go back in the box. I recently purchased a Bass Mafia box for crankbaits. That thing is rock solid. It should survive Armageddon.
  15. The few snakes I have encountered in my parts are of the non-venomous variety. I give them the respect they deserve and leave them alone, that way they do the same to me.
  16. Taste the rainbow! Fish the rainbow!
  17. It’s not April 1st is it? Is this a for real reel?
  18. I have not had this issue. I use mono or fluorocarbon lines on that combo though. No braid.
  19. Lew's has two series of rods with a 6' Medium Pistol Grip Rod. The Lew's American Hero and the Lew's Laser SG1 Cashion also has a series called the CRT kayak that has a pistol grip. Don't know if that was is medium heavy or not. The only pistol grip rod I own is a telescopic Bass Pro Shops Power Plus. It is a 6' Medium action.
  20. Hanging a $900 combo on a $15 rod rack? Kind of like parking your Maserati on the street If I had a $900 combo it would be stored in the bed in my spare bedroom.
  21. I agree. I should have also stated that if someone wants a skin mount with a legal caught fish I have no problem with that. My own Dad is one of those folks.
  22. Like others in this thread I would rather have a picture than a skin mount or a replica. I remember in the years before cellphone cameras I used to carry a disposable camera in a ziplock baggie in my Plano tackle box. When it was full I would have it developed.
  23. My flier says, rod OR reel $99 Combo is a save $50 deal for a sale price of $189.98 down from $239.98
  24. That’s sad to hear. I have an old President that’s still going strong. It’s from when they made them with the wooden handle knob.
