  1. I have a small garden (onions, green beans, carrots and tomatoes) it will be awhile before I get it going, temps still below freezing here at night. My in laws have the bigger garden and we share vegetables. We are ok for the time being, plenty of canned and dried non-perishable stuff. I joke with my wife that once I am out of peanut butter and oatmeal I am catching perch and bluegill to eat. After that it’s time to break out the BB gun and thin out the squirrel population here. Starting Monday i go to a work from home schedule for the next 2 weeks at least.
  2. Closings might be a blessing. Can you imagine if the food hoarders look at local lakes and think of all the fresh seafood they hold...?
  3. No cellphone, then my choice would be a Nikon Coolpix W300 My wife’s hobby is photography and she bought this one for travel and water shots. You can take pics underwater with it. She has used it in the pool no problem. She won’t let me take it fishing as she doesn’t want it to get smelly. Slimy fish hands handling it and all.
  4. Do you have a cellphone? Most cellphones come with decent cameras. I take all my pictures with my IPhone 7. It's water resistant as a bonus feature. I used to have it in a waterproof case.
  5. That matches the color of Franks Red Hot exactly!
  6. Me too, and I am a Jet fan.
  7. Don't rejoice until you find out that he doesn't land with the Jet's or Dolphins.
  8. I do the same. The Walmart Breakfast Blend is not bad. I also like McCafe Columbian coffee. My favorite bagged coffee that doesn't drain my wallet to bad is Starbucks Morning Joe. When I want the good stuff I go to a local coffee shop and buy a bag of their blend. Staying off the net and avoiding sales has been hard. I want to save my money in case I am out of work for an extended time. I did however buy a new fishing scale. My current one does not work anymore. After 2 seasons it died. Went with another brand this time.
  9. Mono. It was good enough for my Grandpappy, it’s been good enough for me. I was using Stren when I was a kid, teenager, young adult (branched out to Stren Magna-Thin for awhile) and adult. I still have spools of Stren on hand along with Berkley Big Game, XL,XT and Sufix Siege.
  10. Got a notice from my son’s school today. They will be closed until April 19th! A whole month off. The inner kid in me was actually envious for a hot second. Luckily he is old enough to be left home alone. I feel for the parents that have to arrange for unexpected child care. Especially if they have no support system.
  11. I am planning my first outing of the year next week. My local pond is ice free so I try for some Perch. If I hit the river it will be for casting practice. the waters are super cold with all the ice run-off from the mountains.
  12. 3",4" and 5" rigged all the usual ways (T-Rig, Dropshot, Wacky) The 3" Yum Dingers wacky rigged with a light hook are small pond magic.
  13. I assume people are worried about being quarantined in their houses for weeks. If that happened they don't want to run out of TP
  14. We had a confirmed case in my area. A pharmacist here contracted COVID19 coronavirus while at a seminar in Florida. Before he was diagnosed he administered 7 flu shots and fulfilled 400 prescriptions. They are trying to contact all those folks to have them self quarantine. I expect that we will be the next place our Governor sends the National Guard to quarantine. If you ask me it is past the point of no return for containment. I worry most for my elderly parents and those that have acute respiratory issues.
  15. Flukes. The only time I have caught anything on a Fluke is when I used it as a trailer on a Chatterbait.
  16. I change line...a lot. I am constantly changing lures on the two set-ups I bring with me. All that cutting and re-tying depletes a spool of line after a few trips. Big Game is a great balance of quality and low cost. A big spool can be purchased for $7-$9 Sometimes $3 on clearance. It helps keep my expenses low and confidence high that I am not going to loose a fish. Stren is another good choice. I always have a few spools of 8# on hand. Stren makes a line called "High Impact" which I assume is their version of Big Game. I have not tried it yet to make a comparison.
  17. What I said when I came across two holes in the ground.
  18. Team Lew’s Custom Pro Speed Spin for $129 I own one and it is the finest spinning reel I have handled. I would buy another.
  19. Thanks! I went last night. Got a few spools of Vicious line and as many Booyah One Knockers as I could carry.
  20. I still use it. I have some spinning reels spooled with 8lb line and some baitcasters spooled with 12lb line. It's still strong and low cost. Leaving out the invisible part as this thread schooled me on that.
  21. I leave the trailers on if I am going to use the jig again in the next few days. Anything that is going to lay around more than a week gets removed.
  22. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-KASTKFREEL.html?from=basres It's true.
  23. https://intercom.help/huk-gear/en/articles/2607288-how-do-you-pronounce-huk
  24. https://www.planomolding.com/a-series-2-0-tackle-backpack while it is way more than I need when bank fishing the Plano 2.0 Tackle Backpack seems like a good choice for you. it can hold a number of trays and the top section is perfect for all your soft plastic packages. I have been thinking about getting it for the trips on my Father in laws boat. I take more gear on those trips and It would make transport easier. For bank angling I have a Samurai Tactical sling bag (holds 1 3700 and 1 3600 box) Or my new Gamakatsu shoulder bag.
