  1. I throw Rebel Teeny Pop R's, Crickhoppers, Hellgrammites and Storm Hopper Poppers on my Lew's Carbon Fire Speed Spin 200 size and matching Medium Light action Carbon Fire Speed Stick. spooled with 8# Vicious Fishing panfish line. The Carbon Fire reel has an aluminum frame. It's not as light as a graphite reel but it's durable.
  2. 10# Berkley Big Game. I could get by with just this line if need be...forever.
  3. Now that is one smart dog. He looks super comfortable.
  4. In my younger days I bruised my friends knuckles pretty bad with a fish billy. We were on a party boat off of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn fishing for Bluefish. I caught a nice one and he was thrashing prey bad. My friend was able to pin it and I was going to club it to get the hook out. Well it was called party boat for a reason. We had a cooler full of beer on that trip. By the time I was going to subdue that fish the cooler was empty. I could have sworn my friends hand was that fishes skull...
  5. Yep, sums it up nicely. Been coming for a long time if you were paying attention. Funny story when the family and I were vacationing in Pennsylvania. We took a trip from our Poconos resort to the nearest Cabelas. I must have gotten on one of those EZ pass only entrances without EZ pass. When I got to the destination I got charge by the toll collector the maximum toll because I didn’t have a ticket or EZ pass. $50 to go to Cabelas. I was super bummed and ticked. I was one of those folks that didn’t get EZpass to save toll collectors jobs as long as possible. After that trip I got EZpass...
  6. I was able to get my Yo Zuri 10# line from EBay. A dealer I ordered other items from. Delivered fast and in perfect condition. Just in time as well. My favorite baitcasters line went through hell this weekend. I really needed to respool.
  7. What is the best bait to throw during the time of day I am fishing? I really want to ask when will x-ray vision goggles or implants become available? If I could see under the surface of the water it would be a game changer.
  8. I picked up where I left off yesterday. River fishing for Smallmouth. The only difference was I was using the Whopper Plopper 75 in the “I know it” color instead of the 90 in bone color. I caught a few Smallmouth. This one was the best
  9. Whopper Plopper kind of morning. Landed four river Smallmouth on the Plopper. Multiple Rock Bass as well before switching to other baits. http://
  10. Senkos still rule the day to me. Best thing to do is wait for a sale and stock up. Better to buy on sale in bulk than to pay full price as needed. Acceptable substitutes include: BPS Stik O, Yum Dingers, 6th Sense Clout and Berkley Max Scent the General.
  11. Lew’s Pro Ti. Why. Because I am able to cast light lures a country mile and I have the drag needed to land the occasional Channel Cat that chomps them http://
  12. I have not put too much thought into this as others seem to have. Finesse fishing to me has always equaled slow to me. Like real slooooow. Cast, let the bait sit, move it a little bit, sit. Even dead sticking. Rinse and repeat. Power fishing was cast, retrieve, repeat.
  13. Guess it must be Catfish time. I caught this 4+ pound Channel Cat today on the Ned Rig I was fishing a big TRD on a 1/4 oz Berkley half head jig tied to 12# fluorocarbon line, M/F baitcasting rod. Nice fight. He made a couple of runs before I was able to beach him. http:// http://
  14. I have been thinking about getting one...eventually. If I did it would be the Scorpion DC for the full DC experience. THEREELTEST did a good comparison of the SLX DC, Curado DC and the Scorpion DC it’s worth the watch on YouTube.
  15. That's the three set ups I take bank fishing. I have multiple combos that I switch in and out to make up those three set ups I take on a session.
  16. I want one. Out of stock and not shipped due to the virus
  17. I use the O-Rings on all my stick baits, Dingers included. The benefits that everyone say all the time is the worm lasts longer and they are harder to shake off the hook is true. However the one benefit I like that few speak about is more of the hook is exposed when the hook is passed under the ring rather than through the worm. I find a better hookup ratio with the ring.
  18. He said 15lb big game. That's rough. I hate wasting line.
  19. River Smallies love the Whopper Plopper. If you don't believe me watch NDYakAngler on YouTube. Other than that I have much success with the Ned Rig, Squarebill Crankbaits and weightless worms. I feel your Rock Bass pain. I have gotten it down to a half dozen for every Smallmouth I catch. http:// http:// http://
  20. I have been taking 3 rods bank fishing with me lately. One topwater, one cranking and one finesse setup. Easier than one rod fits all, cut and re-tie often session.
  21. We need to consider the brands that these Doyo reels are being sold under. If you have: a) a lemon b) an issue with a newly purchased reel c) or need a part for an old reel no longer made What are the Abu’s and Lew’s going to do for you? This is where customer service part of these companies comes in. For example Lew’s has been known to send you a new reel or rod to replace the problems listed above. Sometimes the new item is actually an upgrade. If the company tells you too bad, so sad that we don’t have that part anymore then by all means start purchasing from a company that has better customer service.
  22. I have an appointment next Wednesday. Can’t wait. Last time my hair was cut was February. All I have done since then is clip the sides and clean up the back of my neck.
  23. The fact that they are lighter than other stick baits is what makes them great for certain situations. I love them for shallow water ponds and drift Fishing rivers. The slower fall rate is awesome for these applications. I use the Swim N Dingers for my Neko rig worm of choice. When I need a heavier stick bait I use Yamamoto Senkos, BPS Stik O’s or 6th Sense Clout worm. Walmart has lots of Yum baits with mislabeled and under/over packed packaging in their clearance bins.
