  1. Amen! The Baby Rage Craw is my T-Rig bait of choice for river Smallmouth Bass. 1/8 oz Strike King Tungsten weight, 1/0 Owner worm hook. I throw this on casting gear, 7' Medium action rod and 10# Yo-Zuri Hybrid line. http://
  2. Had this happen the other day. The owner was throwing some kind of chew toy for his dog to retrieve. It was time to move on as nothing is going to bite with that going on. I will add unleashed dogs to the list. Especially on a public walking trail. No matter how early you are out there still might be people about. I was coming on to a trail from the waters edge and walked right up to a unleashed dog yesterday. She started growling at me. Owner walked up and said "She's friendly, it's the fishing poles she is reacting to." I never said a word just waited for them to pass so as not to provoke the dog and then moved on.
  3. Ned rig. This year I almost always have tied on a T-Rigged Rage Tail Baby Craw or a Tiny Child Rig.
  4. This season for Texas rigs on my baitcaster I have used 10# Yo Zuri hybrid and 10# Berkley Big Game mono. The Big Game came after I ran out of Yozuri hybrid. I saw the same amount of catches on both lines. I think I will be sticking with the Big Game.
  5. This would be my suggestion as well. If they are Sunfish they will hit this type of presentation as well. Then you can be sure of what you are seeing
  6. Same here as well. Find the rocks and current breaks. Match the hatch and drift baits past those areas and you should catch fish. My Ploppers and Poppers are hit and miss right now. Mostly miss.
  7. So true. 90% of my craw bites occur on the intial fall. The other 10% is a mix of letting it sit on the bottom or slowly drag a foot or two at a time and pause.
  8. It is. I liked the original way better.
  9. I agree. Some of those scenes just stick with you, the ending as well. A great horror film is the original REC (short for record) 2007 Spanish version. Very claustrophobic tense atmosphere in this film. Interesting twist at the end. The premise: A television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.
  10. For me dual brakes have been easier to cast and not backlash not necessarily better for distance casting. The dual brakes from what I understand control the cast at the start (centrifugal) and the end (magnets) of the cast. This allows for someone to cast without their thumb on the spool if they so choose. You will sacrifice some distance casting this way though. I cast father with my Lew's Pro TI than my MB. The Pro TI has centrifugal brakes with an external adjustment dial. The BB1 does not have this dial so it is a bit more work to get it set just right. A well trained thumb and these types of reels will get you the farthest casts.
  11. Target sells an exclusive Old Spice antiperspirant called Gentlemen's Blend. I use the Aloe and Wild Sage scent. It's free of dyes, parabens and low residue. Most comfortable wearing antiperspirant I ever wore. They have a matching bar soap and body wash. It smells a bit like Safeguard soap. Keeps me dry and smelling good all day.
  12. You can use a dropshot with a baitcaster. I originally started that way fishing one of the big lakes up here. I realized spinning gear lets you get your bait to the bottom faster just open the bail and let her drop. I find this rig effective as it keeps the bait off the bottom. The current gives your bait all the movement it needs. Good technique when the weather is hot and the Bass are deep.
  13. I trust 8# line in open water situations. I got my PB Bass on 8# Sufix Siege line on a size 300 spinning reel on a medium rod. The reel had 13lbs of drag. With it I was able to stop the fish from getting into cover and land him. I might have sweated a bit had it been 6# line. I try and fish the lightest line I can get away with. I agree with the other posters that feel lighter line gets more bites.
  14. One medium light spinning setup. Sling pack with gear.
  15. I agree. Keep in mind the BB1 is internal centrifugal brakes and the MB has a dual braking system with external dial for the magnets.
  16. Lew’s Speed Spin spinning reel $59.99 Solid and smooth. I liked this reel so much I bought another in a different size. I have more expensive spinning reels but this one has become my favorite. 10 bearings 13 lbs of drag (300 model) 9.4 oz (feels solid for a graphite reel) 6.2:1 gear ratio Silver and Gray paint job goes with almost any rod. Combat grips The handle does not get loose after a full day of fishing unlike those with the screw on knob on the opposite side. My only complaint is it is never on sale.
  17. Wish I had some Flatheads around here to test that theory out. Our local canal is full of Fallfish. In-line spinners and light tackle and you can catch a lot for bait. I would have to check limits and legality first.
  18. I never took notice with the pack I had. I did the slow bottom crawl retrieve with them. Seeing as they have a rattle I didn’t want them sitting stationary on the bottom.
  19. I caught a Fallfish over half a pound today. Medium light action pole, size 200 reel, 6# line and these jokers fight even after you pull them out of the water. http:// http://
  20. Lew’s Laser SG1 $49.99 is my favorite budget rod. The cork split grip handle is excellent for a rod in this price range.
  21. The rattling Ned is decent. Besides a Googan bone colored Blooper (popper) it is the only Googan baits I have purchased. The rattle made it stand apart from other Ned offerings for me enough to try them. They are fragile and don’t stand up to many catches but they work fine.
  22. Fantastic catch and read. Those are some happy and proud boys right there. Glad they got to help so they know they are part of the catch. You weren’t kidding about lightly hooked. Look at that first pic!
  23. I was back in the attitude era. Are we joining Degeneration X?
  24. LOL that's one of the pro women anglers @WRB was talking about that they endorse. She comes from the same state as Jessica Rabbit.
