  1. Heddon Super Spook Jr. Once you learn how to walk the dog you feel a real sense of accomplishment. Close second would be the Whopper Plopper for fish catching numbers and versatility.
  2. The hook is not too small. I have used that size and caught many Bass with it. Senko's and other plastic worm like the Yum Dinger come in many sizes including 3 and 4 inch sizes. The smaller wacky hooks work great with them. Yes I have wacky rigged 3" Dingers for small Bass and Panfish. They love em!
  3. I had bad luck with Vanish. Same issue with line snapping. I recommend Kastking Fluorokote. Its a co-poly line coated in Fluorocarbon. This year I am using it for all applications I would have used straight Fluoro on.
  4. I don't know what is more frightening, a vandalized car and stolen rod or using a gas station restroom.
  5. St Croix makes great 2 piece rods. I have a Triumph that has lasted me for years and that's one of their low end rods. Another good 2 piece rod is the *** Black. My car is around the same size and I fit a 7' rod down the center when the seat is folded down. I only take 2 piece rods when I am going on trips out of state and need the trunk for luggage. I prefer using a 1 piece whenever I can.
  6. Kayak fishing is mostly on the weekends for me weather permitting. 3-6 hours trips. Weekends are busy times on the waters around me. When I take an occasional day off during the week to fish it is amazing to see the difference in boat traffic. I make weekday trips to my local pond after dinner some nights in the spring and summer. Those are quick *** hour sessions. I will do that once or twice a week.
  7. I also have a 12 qt. Igloo Quantum cooler. It’s made to hold 1 liter bottles standing up. It’s small and square shaped with 2 cup holders on top. It’s decent if you pre-chill the inside overnight.
  8. I recently got the origin C which is basically the same reel with an aluminum frame instead of a composite. Colors are reversed as well, white reel, black handle. Along with it I have the Source X spinning reel. It’s got that same white knob that I can tell is going to get filthy fast. Let’s everyone know I used it.
  9. I fish the 90 size and I agree. My next WP will be a 110in loon color
  10. I don’t take my soft side in the kayak. I fish with my Father in law from time to time on his boat. It’s a 14’ aluminum Myers. That’s when I take my soft side. It’s a Ozark Trail knock off of the Yeti Hopper. Doesn’t hold ice for 5 days like the Hopper. More like 3days but that 2 days more than I need for a day on the water. Not to mention more than $250 cheaper.
  11. I have a soft sided Plano bag for necessities, pliers, scissors, hooks, extra baits, etc. I sling it over my shoulder when moving and it rests at my feet when I am not. One rod is usually all I take. If I have a second one I bring one of those rod holders you can stick in the ground. I like to travel light.
  12. No cooler on my kayak. I take a Walmart Ozark Trail 36 oz vacuum sealed stainless steel water bottle filled with ice and water. Ice will last 24 hours in it. Cost me $7 on clearance. Great investment. I carry some Nut butter filled Clif Bars for a snack. If I am out on the boat for the day I take a soft sided cooler with some sandwiches.
  13. Whopper Plopper, with a name that stupid it has to work. That was my theory when I bought one. It does work and being a top water bait it is exciting. I have yet to go on a trip where I haven’t caught something while throwing it. Got my PB Pickerel on the Bluegill color. My favorite color WP is Bone.
  14. The Skinny Cutter gets my vote as well.
  15. I have caught one in the past deadsticking a Senko. This past season I caught 2 on Ned rigged finesse TRD's
  16. Hooks and inflatables, I smell treble, I mean trouble.
  17. I think your right. Dick's does the same thing. My Pelican Tracker Angler is a DSG exclusive kayak. It's basically a Trailblazer with 2 rod holders behind the seat and a bungee paddle holder being the only difference. That' seat does look like its right on the kayak floor, ouch! The seats on the Pelican sit-ins are actually pretty comfortable. I have found no need for a cushion.
  18. It would be ironic if they thanked him by mail
  19. When bank fishing I wear jeans and boots, even in the dead heat of summer. One case of poison oak is all it took to ditch the shorts and sneakers when fishing. Carry a walking stick and sweep it ahead of you to uncover any slithering critters. Always make noise while stomping through the brush to warn animals you are coming. Plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent. I use the Bullfrog brand which contains both in one convenient spray.
  20. Thanks for this. Bought 2 bags of worms, a bag of tubes and a bag of swimbaits all Berkley Powerbait items. If I get the $10 rebate I will have paid $3.50 out of pocket.
  21. Depends on what she is massaging could be worth way more than $50... Joking of course. My neighbors wife is a professional masseuse. She charges way more than $50.
  22. On my phone or iPad, no issues. On my work computer I see the same oversized signatures as @Redlinerobert i ain’t messing with those setting for fear of getting fired... oh and I am on the love AJ bandwagon as well.
  23. I’ll play. Z-man big TRD in green Pumpkin. You can fish it like a stick worm, T-rig C-rig or wacky rig. Fish it on a Ned rig as is or cut some off and fish it like a finesse TRD. Works all seasons so it would be my one lure choice. Runner up would be the Missle Baits 48 worm. For all the reasons above. Versatile bait.
  24. Go lipless, Strike King Red Eye Shad. Certain colors are on sale at Walmart right now $5 or go with a square Bill. They bounce off everything much harder to lose one
  25. I have been fishing with the Berkley Fusion wacky weedless. They work pretty good and they don’t break the bank
