  1. Don't forget the shift shaft. A lot of them need to be disconnected usually under the carbs or intake depending on model. Some of them disconnect just about the lower unit and some don't need disconnected at all. And upon reassembly make sure the water tube goes in the hole easily I have seen a few of these damaged due to someone not paying attention
  2. Not sure how much it would benefit you with a 60hp. They'll usually run them on big motors to help with torque steer
  3. If you have hydraulic steering never a bad idea to keep a bottle of fluid in the boat. If you develope a small leak or like my buddy drove 150 miles for a regional and while there somehow one of the fittings on the ram at the motor came loose. Lost all fluid and no one around had any fluid
  4. Went out tonight on tippy with the wife. We have a tournament Saturday morning. Its definitely getting a little tough. Catching numbers just not size. Not sure if the big boys are full on shad or what. Going to go out tomorrow night and try to pin point a few good areas.
  5. I've never thought about it much either but I hooked a 4lber last night and hook ended up a little close to gills. She grabbed it soon as it hit the water and I wasn't ready for it was probably lay the main reason. you should try trick worms wacky rigged on these hooks. I slide a little 1 inch finish nail in the nose of the worm. I have yet to find anything better
  6. Been using these hooks for a while for wacky rigs. Have had great success not loosing fish but I would say starting about 3 weeks ago just about every fish I catch has the hook in the bottom "jaw" I guess you'd day. Before it was always in the top lip. Not sure if is something I am doing wrong or what. I'm using 10lb nanofil with a 4-5 foot 8lb flouro leader. Any ideas or don't worry about it?
  7. Fished chapman tonight and did pretty well. Had 5 in the boat including a 4.35. Won the last little local money tourney and big fish
  8. I use 8 or 10lb nanofil on my finese spinning setups with a 8 lb flouro leader. I use white so I can see the line clearly.
  9. 20 for parts and an hour for labor? Not sure the meaning of that. 4 feet of good fuel line to replace from the tank to the motor cost more than 20$. An impeller kit is probably 60-70$
  10. I also don't fish a new spot or lake without looking at a depth map on my fish finder or google earth to at least look for some types of structure. I am amazed at how you can spot some drop offs just looking at Google earth
  11. Depends on where I am going to fish. If I'm fishing shallow I'll throw a wacky rig with a trick worm. If I'm deeper water I'll throw jig, Texas rig, or a wacky jig. Those are my pretty much go toos. Pretty much I'll have 5-6 rods rigged differently and see what they like including spinner bait, whopper plopper, wacky,Texas and jig
  12. That night we fished dewart and no one did real well I think I had 4.2 with 2 fish. 1st had 4.6 if I remember correctly. It can be a tough lake I pulled a 4 1/2 out of 18 foot of water about a month ago there. Also these are Wednesday night tournaments so the weights are low. We fish from 5- sunset. 8:45 was that night
  13. Good to hear for sure. The guy I've been fishing with has a tr21 in great shape my other Freind has a beautiful champion 202. Anyways the last tournament my partner couldn't make it so I took the ole brown bomber and got 2nd by myself so that just goes to show
  14. Not me on gun forums. Well I was on Indiana sportsman for a while and Mathews forum and ice shanty lol. Thanks for the welcome guys.
  15. Hey everyone. New guy here from Indiana. Actually live on lake tippecanoe and am in the boat repair business. Just started fishing tournaments in July as a fill in. I just bought a wake boat in spring so the wife and I and the baby can use it so a nice bass boat is out of the question but getting ready to purchase an older bomber 17 1/2 footer with a 150 on it. So anyways you should be hearing from me
  16. Take it somewhere. Water pump won't make it not start. More than likely a fuel issue and you don't want to try to fix it your self and run it with fuel issues. It never leads to a good thing.
  17. I use 8lb nanofil with a 8lb fc leader. Works pretty well. I can watch line easily and cast a mile with very light set up
  18. Hello everyone. I'm in Indiana actually live on tippecanoe. Been fishing a little off an on my whole life but really started getting into bass fishing this year. I have a few friends that got me into tournament fishing and loving it so far
  19. Hog sticker is correct I don't use weight with senkos. Well very little if I do. I use the weighted jigs for trick worms if my trims nails aren't heavy enough and sometimes I still will use a nail with the weighted jig
  20. Wacky jig. Use them all the time for deep finicky summer bass. I carry 1/16th and 1/8th in my boxes
