  1. What do you guys think? They seem reasonably priced.
  2. for sure the rat'L'N vibe has a thump to it- I have total confidence in the yo-zuri plus they got it right with the colors.
  3. niether- I prefer Yo-Zuri
  4. rod, reel, line, bait, (shaky head/weight)- I really like this way of fishing it has bailed me out and also put me over the top. I just want to see what you guys are using. I will start: G-Loomis DSR822S Daiwa Fuego 2500 Spider Wire Stealth 10LB with/ 8ft Flouro leader- various baits but; 4.5" fat roboworms, smallie beavers dominate the business end of my line. I use a variety of heads but mainly picasso shakedowns 3/32 to 3/16oz- I use the ikey ball buster in 3/16oz for deep or when using the smallie beaver. I fish a lot these are probably my most effective finesse baits by far. I have been experimenting with the yamamoto shad shaped worm like Shinichi Fukae spoke of in an FLW mag a while back- they work well kind of like the sweet beaver but I think if the bite is really tough the smaller size may be key- now I am rambling lets here what you guys got going on- later B
  5. its a viable option- try flipping and pitching it
  6. Yes, it helps but its an educated decision.
  7. That is it! Thank You, that bait keeper design is the best out there. I wish the hook were a bit more standard though...
  8. I agree with some of the others, I think "sexy shad" is strike king's answer to LC's Chartruse Shad. As far as KVD winning tournamnets and others having success with it... LC's Chartruse shad has been winning tournaments for years since LC came to the states. KVD is the greatest power fisherman to ever step foot on this planet- that helps too. But kudos to Strike King for adding a fish catching color to their line up.
  9. picasso shake down, the bagley ones and Tru Tungsten Ikey head ball breaker, they all have there time and place- :-X
  10. I will offer a tip I learned and use with the jackall giron: I know its a different bait but I think it may work on the T Tungsten and Spro(I know it works on tha spro BBZ- my buddies preference) they look similar: weight the front hook with a 1/8oz clam shell split shot type weight on the shaft of the front treble- fish the bait slow just above the bottom, I walk the dog with a twitch and stop retrieve reeling in slack line as I go- a lot like a top water stick bait- it works really well when they are low in the water column- Good fishin' to ya
  11. RI Beavers in all sizes, Senko's 5"ers, norman crankbaits mini's up to the DD22's, LC jerkbaits and topwaters, SOB spinnerbaits, jackall fick shake worms for ds or shakey head- I could go on and on, but thinking about it I feel like I could catch a basss anywhere with these baits- I cant say that about many baits that are out there.
  12. this has been a viable tactic for deeper smallmouth in my area- give it a shot
  13. I think it was designed to catch fisherman rather than catch fish
  14. terminal tackle locally is what I would burn it on- don't waste $ on shipping with that amount of money- it depends on the person- at your age have fun with it
  15. I fish a lot of clear water- the transparent baits work well for me- ghost minnow or anything on the lighter side
  16. do a search and see how many post there are about these baits- I read the post because I wanted to see if someone actually used the bait in question-
  17. nope never used one- I am getting tired of the Spro, king shad and tru tungsten swimbait posts though. Enough already buy some and try them-
  18. the damiki product line looks good, the rods look sweet as well- I am waiting to hear how their stuff works on the water.
  19. The shakey heads I prefer now are the bagley ones and that is because of the bait keeper on them. The cone shaped keeper below the head is by far the best IMO. Now I comend Bagley for their cone style bait keeper, However I do not like their hooks all that much they are not fine wire enough and dull too easily- so, here in lies the question... is there a higher end shakey head with the bagley style bait keeper out there? If the bagley had a picasso hook I would be all over it- I do not like the screw in style head because it limits the action- please help me I have seen what I am looking for in a picture in a FLW mag last spring but it made no id of the shakey head used in the article. Thank you I know someone on this unit can give me some info-
  20. any old school wiggle wart
  21. I was fishing with my partner last weekend who threw the spro, it wasn't long before he gave up on it- he had some hits and caught a couple but had one hell of time keeping them hooked- I think they were slapping and short striking, this makes me think another hook would have made a big difference. I threw a ghost crappie Jackall Giron for a bit caught one good fish by the rear hook, I was not getting the number of hits as my partner- I think the shad pattern was beneficial- I went to a LC CB D20 in American shad and contiuned to put the beat down on my buddy- by the end of the day we both caught some nice fish and I got to see this Spro that dominates this forum as of late- I don't see what the big deal is- all I got out of it was wishing my jackall had some more flash next time I will have a black crappie pattern in hand- its got some silver in it, unfortunately last trip I left it and some others in my garage........... :-/
  22. around here this none better than the LC Staysee for smallmouth
  23. If there's crappie perch or bluegill in your lake get a jackall giron- its a 4"er and proven I chucked two of them all summer long- they are very durable catch fish and most importantly very fun to fish with- get sospend strips to play with depth the bait is very balanced and action is not comprimised when weight is added- heck I'm going to weight the front hook and experiment with it deep this upcoming early spring
  24. The speed is key- a lot of guys will only tell you, slowest retrieve humanly possible (sometimes the fish want a fast ripp'n retrieve and with a 5:1 and slower reel its virtually impossble) you can always slow down a higher speed reel it can be difficult bit it is possible- I do it. A lot of guys will only use great big bamboo flexy spongy fiber glass rods, I Have this combo, a 3.8:1 on a 7ft diawa glass cranking stick... I HATE THIS SET UP!!!!! Ok that being said, what I do like is my 843c GL3 (7ft med heavy fast action graphite rod) with a 6.2:1 chronarch on it!!! I make sure the drag is backed off this is very key and I use 10 to 12LB co-poly line- check your hooks they MUST BE SHARP. I chuck DD22, Flat CB DR20's all day with no fatigue issues and land fish as often as my fiber glass yeilding compadres. Now that being said there is nothing wrong with fiber glass rods- just not for me and many western pros I have fished with. I am sure I'm gunna get ripped for this but I gotta put in my .02- I bought a fiberglass rod and slow reel and now I don't even use it.
  25. What do you guys think about weighting one of these down(Jackall Giron 4" swimbait) I am thinking I'd fish it slow kinda like a jerkbait on the bottom this winter and early spring- well what do you think and better yet anyone try this yet?
