  1. I finally got an academy deal! 2 Motive casting reels normally 79.99 for 24.99 each 1 Tatula 7'2" Heavy Fast normally 159.99 for 67.99 1 Ethos Micro 7' MH Fast normally 99.99 for 34.99 $400 in gear for less than a full price Tatula rod. They also had the Tatula cranking rods...might have to go back later tonight and get one.
  2. My crank rig is my cheapest rig and my 2nd favorite behind my finesse spin rig. Pflueger Trion in 6.3:1 and a 6'6 Med Mod Lightning Shock rod. I throw a lot of 1.5's, 1/2 oz lipless, small spinners and a whopper plopper 90 on it.
  3. I tried Big Game after reading about it heren and it's been fantastic! I use 10lb on my crank rig and 15lb on a MH rig. I threw jigs in some nasty stuff with the 15lb and big game held up exceptional and pulled out a few 7lbers.
  4. Missile Fuze 5 Siebert Dredge Jigs 2 Siebert Shot Caller Swim Jigs IMA Crank Luckycraft Crank Savage Armor Worms Roboworms Plasma Tails 2 packs ShadZ Netbait Paca Slim Mister Twister Bubbly Worms Pepper Customs Jig and a little terminal tackle
  5. I caught my PB on my spin rod which I fish way more than my baitcasters. Its also my cheapest rig: $30 ML XF Daiwa Laguna rod and a $50 Pflueger President. Technique and knowlege > gear
  6. Oooooooh I figured it out too and was about to post.
  7. I have a small 1/4oz crankbait and I caught a lot of fish on it. I also threw a kvd squarebill and caught a lot of fish in the same area so I can't really confirm anything.
  8. I tried changing the date in the URL but no luck.
  9. What? It's not working for me.
  10. I use a Daiwa Laguna ML XF I picked up for $20 and I absolutely love it. I throw 1/15th heads with a shadZ on it mainly.
  11. It will happen, all records are broken eventually. There are probably a lot more 20 lb bass than we think there are. It wouldn't really surprise me if there is a 30 lber out there somewhere.
  12. Mostly finesse. I just enjoy fishing by feel. I do more so now than I used to. I think it's because this whole last spring and summer I spent most of my time fishing at night and it was like fishing blind. I can pretty much map the bottom of the lake in my brain now.
  13. 1/15th oz Zman finesse schroomZ jig head with a Zman green pumpkin blue flake shadZ
  14. I agree. I have a med hvy mod fast for deep cranking and big topwater and it is very stout.
  15. 7' md hvy fast casting rod 7' med mod casting rod 7' med light fast spin rod 7'6 hvy fast casting rod
  16. I have that reel in 6.3 and I love it to death. It's spooled with 10lb big game and sits on a 6'6 med/mod lightning rod. I use it for cranks, whopper plopper 90 and small chatter and spin baits.
  17. You fish it just like a tube.
  18. I like to use skirt colors to match what i'm trying to immitate. For the trailers I pick one based on action, not on color.
  19. Any beaver style bait, they all seem to slip through vegetation really well. Pit Bosses are probably my go to.
  20. Mine is a casting monster. It's not the smoothest reeling reel, but it's a reliable workhorse so far.
  21. Personally I think there are better reels for $100. For $100 I would rather have a Daiwa Tatula. If you want a link to $100 Tatulas send me a PM.
  22. 4000 series Shimano Sienna and a big ugly stik.
  23. This year I started ignoring trailer colors. My observations lead me to believe action and size far outweigh color of trailers.
  24. What are you calling big game?
  25. My casting crankbait rig is a 6'6 med/mod lightning shock rod and a pflueger trion reelnin 6.3:1. The reel was like $35 at walmart but I honestly prefer it over my lews LFS.
