  1. ok guys i just took my reel apart (all the way down to the Pinion gear)and put it back together today. I re-lubed all the bearings and the Pinion gear and the main drive shaft. My reel is still sounding like something is out of place when I cast (only when i cast). The Pinion gear was still in good condition. My last resort would send it into Daiwa. Any other opinions or suggestions?
  2. I was fishing with my lexa 300 and i push down the spool release.( it must have been half enganged) amd then i casted but the lure just whipped my rod hard. I felt stupid so i went to cast again. Now when i cast it sounds like something is grinding inside the reel(almost like a reel with a chip in it), i can no longer make accurate casts and pitches with it. It is no longer smooth. Anybody else have this situation? Or know if it is a simple fix or should i send it in to get repaired? thanks
  3. I have a dawai lexa 300 with a dawai inshore rod ( this rod is a beef stick). It says it can only cast 1oz lures(max) but i have caught fish on it with a 6 inch hudd. I have a st croix spinning and i am not a big fan also. The rod would have to be 7' and under since im a shore fisherman
  4. Anything lighter than 1 oz. i will have it pired on a lews tournament pro speed spool with #12 fluoro. Thank you

  8. everything is fine with the spool when I took off the side plate and I turned the handle it was grinding again. and I forgot to mention earlier that the reel when it first started to grind it had something rattling inside of it.
  9. I purchased a Shimano Cardiff 300a from Bass Pro yesterday and when I took it out of the box in the store the reel felt just fine. When I got in the car the reel had an unknown spot of friction on it, it felt rough. We were already 2 hours away from the store (Rancho Cucamonga, Los Angeles traffic was bad) and there was no going back. When i got home I reel was really grindy and I was afraid if I reel it anymore it would break. I have all the original papers that came in the box and the receipt. I have already contacted Shimano about this. Should i contact Bass Pro?
