  1. Any suggestions for a 6’6 to 6’10 medium heavy spinning rod around $100? I hate the way medium spinning rods fish for some reason but I can’t seem to find anything MH under 7ft. I’m open to any suggestions but I prefer to stay away from the vertias.
  2. 6ft 8 medium H2O express ethos from academy sports. IMO best rod line for that money and the M is more is more a heavy ML and a light M. Perfect rod for ned rig as well as light shakey heads and drop shot. The best part is $60 and academy offers a no questions asked return policy
  3. Well around here I don't have to worry about 100 miles run but I get what you're saying. So far I've got about 10 boaters interested
  4. I think it's something that needs to happen. There's so many people who fish out of aluminum who are good but are intimidated by boat with 250s flying by.
  5. I'm looking to start an all aluminum bass boat tournament trail in South Carolina. 75hp max with cheap entry fees more of less for the fun of competition. If interested message me. Once there is enough interest we will begin to plan out details
  6. 7ft 3 heavy H2O express from academy. $60 and it's lighter and more balanced than most rods under $120. Easily could be sold for that under a different company's name. I have a g loomis imx that use to be my jig rod but when I got the ethos it got Carolina rig duties. And academy has a no questions asked return policy something you won't find in many rods in that price range.
  7. I picked 3 up at my local academy for $20 each but mine didn't come with an extra spool. I've used it one time and seems like a great reel especially at that price
  8. I'm looking to buy a 6ft spinnerbait rod for roll casting. I also want to be able to use it to throw a topwater if need be. I'd like to keep it under $100 as it's not really a rod that will be used much. I just have an extra speed spool begging for a reel and that's really the only setup I'm missing.
  9. H2O xpress ethos 7ft 3 heavy. Only $60 at academy and I like it better than my $300 loomis for flipping and pitching as long as you don't throw heavy jigs with it. Academy also has a no questions asked return policy on the ethos line of rods
  10. My academy had the all star asteams on sale for $20 each. I know people talk about the quality of the new all stars but if anyone needs some cheap rods you definitely won't beat them for $20
  11. I fish completely right hand besides flipping. I flip with a left handed reel. It's awkward at fish but if you just hold the rod and practice reeling a little bit sitting at home it makes it a lot easier to adjust to on the water.
  12. As someone that owns every action of the ethos made I will say that the actions on them are a little funky. That 7ft 3 heavy is the best Carolina rig rod I've ever owned and I find myself fishing it more than my 7ft heavy Loomis IMX. I think they are by far the best rod under $80
  13. I know I'm basically stealing it a $2800 from a family friend should be picking it up sometime this week
  14. How much would you give for this boat? Motor runs good compression is perfect everything works just needs new carpet. It's a 2005 bass tracker pt175 with a 50hp mercury all electronics and trolling motor are stock. It won't let me post picture but the hull is in good shape with minor scratches
  15. Thank you for all that information. I was already considering the presidents and vendetta/vertias just wanted to see what other suggestions came up. Not quite mid Atlantic I live in South Carolina
  16. Looking to build my girlfriend a 3 spinning rod and reel arsenal. She currently has a 6ft medium lighting rod with a lews American hero reel. I need two more combo preferably around 100-150 each to compliment the one she already has. She's only 4ft 9 and prefers a 6ft rod, 6ft 6 is pushing it. What should I get her?
  17. Looking to get serious about finesse fishing. What are 5 finesse techniques I should learn . Already somewhat proficient with a shakey head, dropshot, and Ned rig. So basically what's two more techniques that I should add to that list?
  18. Abu Garcia silver max with either Berkley lighting rod or cherrywood. Perfect combo to learn on. I still use my 5ft 6 medium cherrywood my dad started me on baitcaster make with. It's 15 years old and has probably caught more fish than any rod I own, and it's still going strong
  19. Best reel for a beginner. Easiest cheap reel to cast. If your also looking for a rod a highly recommend the Abu Garcia Vengance. It's the best rod for the money. For a $100 you'll have a very fishable combo. I personal have 2 black Maxs 2 silver maxs and 2 pro maxs and the silver max is by far the best IMO
