  1. Give em the daughters hello kitty aka the Gill slayer
  2. You owe this guy ^ a beer ha-ha! Nice response. I enjoyed reading it
  3. Exactly what my question was asking . Thanks.
  4. Try a little jighead with a white/chartreuse split tail grub. Bps and cabelas have them called "crappie magnets " and their slogan is "sore lip em all" . And that you will. Everything hits em. I've had 3 pound bass take one. And also this nice Gill.
  5. This is a nice one for coming from a pond . Small minnows. Can't keep em off
  6. Seem pretty excited. Happy for ya bud. Usually when I go to a new place I like throwing a hard bait first. Something with some flash that can cover alot of water. Sounds like a real play ground. Good luck.
  7. Never had much luck on those only a couple crappie and a small bass. But looking at your profile. I'm going to assume you know what you're talking about. I'll have to try those again
  8. Lol they don't have it that rough bud ! Their fish get huge. I'm in ohio so I know how the bass are in oh , mi , PA . And although they llive longer on average, They get no where near the size . Ive fished in South. Alabama mainly. The heat is rough. But I'd say well worth it.
  9. I wish I could fish in Cali. And complain about only catching 5lbers ha-ha. Must be nice bud. Anything over 5 in ohio is a NICE bass. Anyway. I do alot of pond fishing. Early in the morning you can usually catch the big ones in the shallows chasing prey.
  10. The scatter rap is frowned upon by some people. I think durability issues. Or the fact that you can't "burn" it on the retrieve because it will do circles. I personally love the scatter rap. Especially in the shallow crank and shad style . Caught multiple 4 lbers on the scatter rap this summer alone.
  11. Perfect for bait (;
  12. When I was a young boy . Probably 10. My younger brother (7) was with us at a lake we had access too. Me n my buddy would troll jointed rapalas from a paddle boat and do ok. (It's what got me hooked on artificial) . Anyway we left my brother at the dock. And when we came back he was fighting a fish that seemed like a monster to us. We got over to the dock and thought it was the biggest bass we had ever seen (probably about 5 pounds) . He didn't know what he was doing , and neither did I. He tried to horse it with some old pole from the shed and the line broke with the bass right in front of us. I asked him how he hooked it. And he told me he didn't want to take off a small bluegill that he caught so he just kept casting it out hoping it would fly off. Ha-ha !
  13. Rapala skitter pop. Caught my PB on one a few years ago. . It's the real deal man lots of fish on it and you could get one alot cheaper than some of these other baits (other than the rebel pop-r) which is very similar.
  14. Wasn't trying to offend anybody. I think the idea of Bigfoot is pretty awesome .i would love to talk to someone who's sure they've seen one. I wasn't totally excluding the fact that it could be real. Especially with all the different parts of the world with "sightings " thats why it has so many names. Bf , squatch , yetti etc. I was just simply stating that with all the animals we know about, that we've never even seen in person because they existed millions of years ago ; why don't we have just one set of bones . A skull. A tooth. A rib cage. Something. I'm on a bass blog talkin squatch.
  15. Yea man , not good.
  16. Ha-ha. Yep. And ive caught a 17b bass in ohio. I'm also 6 foot. (5'9") . And have never had a fish shake the hook.
  17. The only problem with the "Bigfoot theory " is . We have no skeleton. I know it's fun to think about. But also , consider all of the dinosaurs Nd even sea animals we would have never known existed without bones of some sort. We are talking animals from MILLIONS of years ago.... we have full skeletons of all these creatures yet don't have one single skeleton from something that is supposedly living today and is in almost all parts of the world. Awful odd to me.
  18. I wonder if its hereditary. Or just something that happens.
  19. Well I'm only 23. But have been fishing for almost a decade. And I was shocked. In the pond there are big catfish. Big crappie. Some decent bluegill. And the biggest bass I've caught was a little over three pounds. I went out there once with a 5 inch swim bait looking for a big bass. And hooked a huge crappie. Regardless. I've never kept any fish from that pond. And never will after this.
  20. Lol this is funny . But having a kid is the best thing that ever happened to me. It takes away from fishing a little bit. But makes it that much more special when you do get out there
  21. I agree. Maybe that's why the crappie are so big in the pond ha-ha . Slabs !
  22. If they're chasing bait fish. Why not try a shad like hard bait ? I like the rapala 07 shad rap . In my experience it works better the more stained the water is. But the choices seem almost endless walking through a bass pro shop. If whatever you're trying isn't working. Step out of your comfort zone a little and try something new. Ya never know..
