  1. Although most reaction strikes come when a crank bait deflects off an object , or digs off the bottom ... doesn't mean that's what has to happen. What cranks do you run ? When bass are active I really nail them on a bomber model A. And rapala Dt. With a stop and go retrieve. Fishing from the bank. Your options are limited. Fan casting is your best option and I'm willing to bet most of your strikes come from when you're casting semi-parallel to the bank. I would look into using a rapala original floater. And a shallow shad rap or jointed shad rap. Ive caught many fish with both. And i have a couple that if I paid a dollar per fish for each I've caught with them they would cost more than a lucky craft.
  2. Does the record belong to that guy in Japan ? From what I've read it weighed exactly the same as George Perrys.. which was caught in Georgia ? Is it 22 lbs 4oz? Seems a little odd to me that it would weigh exactly the same.. the odds of that are slim to none.. sounds like either the Japanese stretched the truth.. or the Americans don't want to let the record go.. forgive me for not knowing the Japanese man's name. I do know he caught it on a live bluegill.. does anybody know how George caught his ? And if it was caught in Georgia... why do i not hear much about Georgia bass ? I know they get bigger down south.. but all I ever hear about is Florida and California..
  3. @lecisnith I'm glad you did. Too bad I can't catch anything on a nightcrawler but gills and small catfish.
  4. More power to the man ! Look at him! I'm happy for him. Live bait, from his dock.. who cares. I think it's awesome.
  5. Just 6 forked sticks. Catch em all the time on my crank baits.
  6. Gotta love those spots !!
  7. The best way to deal with an angry beaver. Is pork.
  8. Oh no. 50 bucks is important to me. I've had to cut back on my fishing spending alot. I agree tho. Maybe you are right ! But if he did live in a rural situation I'm sure he could find someone on a farm who needed a hand a few hours on the weekend.. maybe he has no car.. you're right. I do not know his situation . I'm interested what he has to say.

    SK vs GYCB

My take is that just slightly over half of who voted.. would rather go without SK than Yamamoto .
  10. I'm not positive but I think they need a food source.. that's why they are commonly found in trash... I've never heard of this... I've heard of rust.. plastics melting...maggots though... that's a little rough bud. And idk how young of a teen you are. But I had a part time job when i was in high school ! You could junk the box.. get a couple dividers and some plastics and a crank and a top water ,some terminal tackle. All for under 50.
  11. Unless you're consistently winning. Ha-ha. Right

    SK vs GYCB

@Choporoz If you could ONLY use products from ONE of the companies. Which would you choose.. I thought it was pretty simple. Obviously we don't have to ! I was just wondering which is preferred...out of 1000 some views. Only 64 have voted. And it's dead even. Sorry I quoted you Nate . Mistake.
  14. If I ever get that burnt out feeling. I find new waters. I get an undeniable excited sensation fishing something new. Whether it's a river , small lake or pond. And that rush is back again. Just wondering what's lurking.. I'm excited just thinking about fishing somewhere new lol
  15. Lol ohhh. One of the new England bandwagoners ?
  16. Lol hard to argue that dude.. who's your team ?
  17. We are going to taco Bell. And I expect you to eat off the value menu.
  18. @IndianaFinesse imma be greedy and say I want 2 now ?. I don't think the colts are a bad team. A good win for sure.
  19. @deaknh03 lions and bengals won today. So hah!
  20. @davecon. See ya there bud. ? Haha And I agree with A-Jay as well. Maybe it's the spot. If you know they are there.. then don't give up.. I know most people frown upon live bait.. but what are you there for ? To catch fish. It's a good way to confirm size and quantity. If you did go that route. I would opt for bluegill around the 4inch size, shiners or creek chubs. And craw dads. I Seine the creeks around me twice a year to feed my pond. And always have a blast fishing with the big ones we get.
  21. Are you catching them to eat?
  22. @daveconI feel your pain ha-ha can't stop buying em. I have enough to last me a life time. Original, jointed, countown, fat rap, shad rap, jointed shad rap. Xrap (and all its versions like shallow shad and xrap countdown) husky jerk, Dt series, a couple scatter rap and shadow rap series, skitter pop/walk/prop . I have a problem. But honestly have caught fish on all them. Some more than others...
  23. I'd try the jig and craw... and the swimbait separate. And I second the jitterbug ! There's a reason the rapala floater is the number one selling lure of all time. It catches fish all over the world. I like a slow retrieve with small twitches. I also get a size big enough to come with three trebles. But remove the middle one because I like to catch and release .
  24. Welcome. Lots to read about Carp. Check the "other species section"

    Yum Dingers

If that bass was caught from a pond. Some serious harvesting is needed ! That bass is so skinny... it almost looks sick. Look at the head on that thing ! It should easily be 4+ lbs.. it looks like it might be two..
