  1. I'm with this guy ^ I have alot of knives. But the one I pack everyday is a Milwaukee (tool company) fastback knife I got at home depot for 30 dollars. It's very sharp, has a serrated edge at the bottom , has a wicked easy assisted opening and is reliable; just like everything else I have ever owned from Milwaukee. Also you probably couldn't go wrong with a leatherman . I love all the tools mine comes with.
  2. I really liked the above post ^ the only thing that threw me off was the "back to the sun" that would cast a shadow towards where you are fishing. I've always fished with the sun at my face..
  3. Welcome to bass resource. Cheap is a relative term. What's cheap to me and cheap to the next guy are usually two very different things. Also your lure selection is not mentioned ? Are we talking cranks , frogs, spinnerbaits .. ya know ? I'd be weary of any "cheap" lures I found online.
  4. I think you really need to watch any grandchild (or child, regardless of age) very closely ! My daughter is almost one. And she is in to everything. I never can relax unless she's asleep. I have a 7 year old nephew. And he's complete trouble. always in to something and very sneaky about it. You won't have to worry about the bears here in a couple months. I'd say they are out and about though right now. I've never really been scared by a coyote. But I've also never came in contact with a pack.. and I've never seen one with much size. Usually just skinny stragglers.
  5. I think it's amusing. I don't really see anybody out of line either.. no names.. no swearing.. just talk.
  6. Most grippers are pretty solid. Honestly it will kill the fish if its unable to shake it .. and I imagine it would wear the bass out rather quickly. Even if it is lightweight. But maybe it shook free. And lives another day. Crazier things have happened. You learned your lesson.
  7. I do agree senkos out perform the ribbon tail in the fall(for me). I also agree that a trick worm on a shaky head is a great choice. It is in summer as well. Again i agree that the jig catches fish year round and is always a good choice. But, I catch worms on a t rigged culprit ribbon tail in red shad or tequila all the way through fall. I dont think the tail is too much action at all. For winter , yes. For fall... no.
  8. I use a medium spinning rod with 15lb braid for the pocket frog and can get it to go a good distance (for what it weighs). I try and make sure the lure is half way down the length of the pole before I cast.
  9. If people would carry a simple soft tape measure. It would be more credible and much easier to estimate. Here's a pic of my 21in bass with 15in girth etc.
  10. Dang. Ive caught a few decent largemouth on the one that I bought. I wasnt sold on it and never bought another. But got my money out of it for sure ! That's unfortunate to hear. There isn't a single rapala model I own that hasnt caught a fish. I have got a couple that didn't run great out of the box but all of their designs are fish catchers IMO.
  11. After re-examining . I can see why people say 4 he's kind of sticking it out there. These things are pointless. Lol.
  12. Yea it's hard to tell. He could be 6'2 or 5'6" ha-ha. It's a nice bass tho. That fish would make me feel so great.
  13. Lol ^ I was thinking 6+ Every day with these posts though man.
  14. Every day with this..
  15. I highly doubt this thing will be talked about as much as the whopper plopper. So burnt out on the WP threads. I'm glad to see something else being talked about.
  16. Ive had success throwing the zoom ol monster and rage anaconda. But I like throwing the 7.5 in ribbon tails better. You can still catch quality bass on a 7.5 inch worm. Just like you can still catch a dink with a 12in.
  17. You're supposed to be telling us! You're the pro !!
  18. I think you'd get more responses if you posted this in "tournament talk" or in the northeast region. A search of Winnipesaukee turned this up and many more
  19. For me it depends where I'm fishing. If I'm able to get out on a decent sized lake I always have liked using that jointed shad rap 07 . It rattles and suspends and I normally do really well with this bait in the fall. If I just go to a pond though, I still can nab them on an original floater. Which is really fun to fish.
  20. @j bab yea wow. Interesting. Agreed.
  21. Lol. Some of those bluegills would make you blush I promise.
  22. Expensive to me and expensive to you are very likely two different things. I worded it wrong fly fishing was expensive (for me) to start. Cool idea though.
  23. Nice ! That one's closer. Almost within a quarter pound for me.
