I thought the same thing about senkos until I really forced myself to use them Texas rig weightless.. I disagree big time that they aren't as effective . I prefer to fish them tx weightless now and I can get around 5 fish a worm with the original GY senko rigging this way. Senkos are not just regular worms... and definitely are not limited to just wacky. I could never wacky rig them again and catch bass with them day after day. I Appreciate your insight on the zinkerz though.

I was asking for personal success... I like to fish the senkos weightless. If I use weight there are better options IMO.. I understand "you can wacky rig any worm" .. in reality it doesn't even have to be a worm.. but I was asking how well they compare to senkos and dingers... not if you can rig them... lol

Does anybody have good success with these baits fished like a normal senko ? Tx rig or wacky weightless ? Everytime I see someone talk about these. It's 1/2 a zinkerz on a "Ned rig" I was eyeing them at field and stream but got the dingers and senkos instead...
  6. You sure you don't just like to tinker ?
  7. If I'm going to pay that much for weights... I'm going to buy them pre colored in whatever color I plan on using..
  8. I'm going fishing. Ha-ha just out side of waynesville
  9. Every Walmart I've been to sells senkos for that price. But they usually only have 3 or 4 colors. And they are all dark green. (In my area). And I haven't seen them offer the 4" or 6" versions either... every pack of GY senkos I've seen had ten in them.. the dingers come with 7 I believe.
  10. It's a crank bait ! Lol . The rebel crawfish is a crank bait. Yes with a lip. You just reel it in at various speeds.. the jig is separate... and I just meant find another spot on the little Miami.
  11. @Ohioguy25 rebel crawfish is a cheap and effective crank bait. It's pretty unique looking and has a nice action. And the price makes it so you aren't afraid to pitch it near the laydowns.. I'd try a hellgrammite soft plastic lure. It's a favorite of all predatory fish in rivers. As for your soft craws.. Vary your retrieve. Have you ever tried to catch a crayfish ? They are very fast! Try ripping it off the bottom. As if it was trying to escape . I agree with Scott.. I passed ovet the little Miami on the way to work today. It's a big river. You said you're in a kayak. Venture to another area perhaps.
  12. Senko (any color , seriously) rigged weightless t rigged. And wacky. Tx style will allow the worm to last much longer in my experience. Double tail hula grub. Again rigged weightless. Jig with trailer of your choice. I'd take a good look at the rage chunk. Bomber 4a. Year after year this shallow crank catches bass for me. Its so fun to use ! And usually under 5 bucks.. That rapala popper you mentioned landed me my PB. So I'm a firm believer in that lure as well. Also an x-rap. I think you only need two colors. Olive green and black/orange. I second the swim jig as well.
  13. I was at field and stream the other day.. and they were selling gycb senkos for 8.50. next aisle... yum dingers for 2.99 . I bought mostly dingers... I did get a pack of senkos in one of my favorite colors. Gooseberry laminate.
  14. Ha-ha! I have a similar experience. I took mine crappie fishing, because she doesn't have the patience or the want to fish for bass with artificial... we used live minnows. And caught a whole mess.. I took us to the spot, Rigged em, cast it out and let her set the hook. She caught the biggest one(we were on some slabs too I had a blast) And she still tells me about it all the time.
  15. Yea you do !!! Ha-ha. I'm not married. but live with my girlfriend and have a little girl together. And I always get the "uhhh fishing again..." disappointed response like im wasting my time.. she just doesn't understand. But that's ok.. I always tell her I could be doing alot worse.
  16. Yea get rid of your surplus tackle. And then buy his^ ha-ha.
  17. Im interested in this as well.. not too many responses. All everyone seems to use is the keitech , a grub, or rage products. Im interested in alternatives
  18. You can fish inside the park??? Last time I was there... about 5 years ago.. I was almost 19. We took a boat ride across some pond to the other side. And at the dock was a nice bass chasing small bluegill. I was drooling at the thought of those (what I thought was) untouched bass.
  19. You don't need to use light line if you use braid because the diameter is much smaller. If the fish were so cautious of seeing the line they wouldn't ever bite A-rigs or any of the baits i mentioned above...
  20. I just meant their qualities.. such as their eyes and shape. They get real big too ! I imagine a huge one might offer a better experience in terms of a fight. In the weakest fighting fish thread walleye was mentioned alot..
  21. I like fishing for largemouth more.. I love when you catch a big one and you can get your whole hand (and then some) down its mouth. But the color of a small mouth has to be the most gorgeous fish pattern I've ever seen.
  22. I think the experiment with your friend might have been coincidence. But whatever you have confidence in will definitely help you succeed. I agree about the drop shot. I don't use SK cranks. They get enough of my money Through soft plastics, spinnerbaits and jigs. I like rapala and bomber. In my experience, the rattle excels when you find active fish... but when they aren't In the feeding mood I've had better luck squeezing out bites with the silent cranks. Tro-kar makes nice hooks... I'm not sure about your particular model.. but I do know trokar is top notch.
  23. The only thing fluorocarbon has on braid is that it sinks.. and that it stretches some (if that's what you like) , I personally don't. I like the no stretch instant hook up with braid, also braid has superior sensitivity . And casting distance. People who believe fish will only bite with fluorocarbon are nuts. I've used just braid all season and have caught some big fish (for my region). Bass bite thick wire spinner baits, A-rigs, wacky rigged worms on a EWG, t rigs with unpainted lead weights, swimbaits with keel weighted hooks. The list goes on and on.. the only time I'd use a FC leader is to get some depth on a light bait.
