  1. Ha-ha ! That made me laugh. Of course you too ! I just think it's special fishing with relatives especially grandparents. Really soak that in man. If I went fishing with my grandpa I would do whatever I could to make sure he caught a fish. That would be #1 for me. (even though all he probably wants is to see you catch one) I'd love to spend a day on the water with my grandpa. I'd give alot for that. I wish the both of you luck. Lol. And the lures you have chosen I use to catch bass all season. So as long as you get on the fish. I think you'll do good. I wanna see how ya did ! Rain or shine.
  2. I hope your grandfather gets into some slabs.
  3. In one of the fishing reports out in Cali was a reopening of some lake and a few of the people mentioned they caught a few 7-8 lbers nothing special .. and I thought to myself.. must be nice. And I agree !
  4. I googled the colors to see which one id like to have. nd a DSG came up and are selling these for 17.99 http://m.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=46094426&camp=CSE:GooglePLA:46094426:24484794-DSG:TACKLE_LURES_HARD-BAITS&gclid=CJyigvj1jdACFVCAaQodxc8Mwg
  5. .. @WRB I often see you say something about how you are a trophy bass angler. I actually read in a post somewhere in the lines and knots section that you claimed you "have caught more DD bass than anybody on this site". Ive also seen you say that if "your hand cannot fit in the bass's mouth it is not worth a picture " I feel like you have alot to offer.. and when I first entered this site was intrigued by your picture of that replica you're holding. But I know that a big portion of you being able to catch those size bass is your location. I'm not taking anything away from your knowledge or skillsets but you cannot catch bass 15lbs+ in my region very easily. Obviously. Because it isn't on record of it ever being done that I know of. Not everyone is blessed with the opportunity to get close to huge bass on a regular basis where an 8lb bass becomes just mehhh. to some people an 8lb bass is a bass of a lifetime.
  6. The hooks usually aren't so great.. but. It can not be beat in its price range IMO. This exact model saved me from a skunk 2 weeks ago. When I couldn't get anything going on plastics, a chartreuse model 5a managed to hook 3. None were more than 2lbs but i was so happy I decided to give it a chance.
  7. I was about 12 years old.. 11 years ago.. Me and my bestfriend at the time would troll jointed rapalas off the back of a paddle boat on a small lake. We caught bass and it's what made me fall in love with artificial lures in general.. this also carved out a lifelong spot for rapala in my tackle box. No matter what the "hottest" and "best new" cranks are.
  8. Oh. Well. Id say you're doin pretty good then bud . I don't know what to say to that.. thats like two car dealerships that both sells Chevy's with the same warranty . But one is cheaper.. no brainer. Are they really that much cheaper though ?
  9. Yea but @Molay1292 do you know of a company that sells these same quality jig heads cheaper to the public ?
  10. If nobody sells a similar jighead (both in quality/appearance) cheaper then there really is no argument ! Of course making your own would be cheaper ... that runs parallel with most things ! But I don't want 100 of them.. the bottom line is if there isnt a company selling the exact quality of this jighead for less money then the whole discussion is pretty pointless.. because a consumer (typically ) only needs a few. And might have many, but surely doesn't need them in bulk... I know plenty of people like making their own things for fishing and I'm sure it feels good to catch fish on an item you created. But that is a different discussion.. the one here is answered simply. Does company X sell this EXACT jighead for cheaper ? If not then I don't see why you are arguing.. Let's just fish..
  11. Bass fishing in Florida is one of mine ha-ha. I hope we both succeed!!
  12. Yea "hamma" is one of my favorite reads on this site.
  13. Got some awesome shots there ! Nice!
  14. ^
  15. Jig , worms and topwaters have always got me my biggest fish. But I've got a few big ones on rapala shad raps and floaters. I know some people swear by the spinner bait.. preference comes from personal experience. Jigs worms and topwaters for me though.
  16. Lol I'll respond later after this thread has died out that way it doesn't get put on lock.
  17. Sounds like personal experience to me. Being from Michigan ice fishing is a part of life for alot of folks there. And I've seen HUGE pike, musky , crappie , perch, walleye , and damm near everything in between get pulled up through the ice. And I'm talking HUGE for all of those species. So some remark about ice fishing not worth it "for some dinky panfish" truly shows your lack of knowledge on the subject.
  18. Sadly. This series seemed fixed. I seen more errors in this game then in all the other games. And no, I didnt want Cleveland to win. I actually wanted Chicago to win because I got to go see them play the reds this year. I guess it's just a coincidence they made this series stretch to 7 games. With all that money to be made. Fishy to me I don't care what anyone says.
  19. On that Helsinki shad rap. Nice
  20. I have caught some big bass(for my region) on rapala. My favorite one is probably a sleeper on most peoples radar. The jointed shad rap. (Not that the original shad rap isn't a beast) but I never hear people talking about the jointed version. And it has caught many species for me. And has saved me from a skunk more than once. Using a variety of retrieves but I'd say my most successful one is a slow reel, followed with a pause and twitch. I have some colors that are discontinued that I'm a big fan of. But for ones they still make.. perch takes the cake (even where there are no perch) Here is the perch I'm talking about.. and the other is "hot perch" but is not made anymore. I wish I could have an extra so I could fish it fiercely.
  21. I have an aluminum 14 ft Jon boat. I pop the lil motor off and have my brother help me flip it upside down on the trailer. I don't get to use it as much as id like because of my situation. But this works for me. It doesn't have plywood and stuff down though. Just 3 bench seats and 2 swivel seats (that I remove) clipped to the benches. Keeps it from filling up with water. And snow. Works great really. I strap it down and it sits there. But this is just some ol aluminum jon boat man. I got 600 bucks in it with EVERYTHING. So. Yea. Bass turd has a good idea if you have a boat like his
  22. shhhhh. 75 percent of people don't know these things. (; Baby needs some shoes ! That's why !!
  23. Best of luck to you @tcbass . Both with your family and fishing (;
  24. Come on now. Let the man tinker.
  25. This is the shortest point I've seen from you! Lol
