  1. 400 ?? ^ I feel better about having around 100 cranks and jerkbaits all together now ?
  2. More than likely people have never heard of em. I know that's the case for me.
  3. When you're fishing lakes from shore... Most places really get fished hard because of all the people without boats go there and really wear the spot out. If you're gonna fish LAKES from shore. You need to do some hiking my friend.
  4. When fishing small ponds 1) find the bluegill. The bass are never too far away. 2) ANY change in the edges (humps, tree limbs, bushes) usually hold fish. When the ponds get choked with weeds it's hard in the summer to fish those ponds. Go with as little weight as possible as this helps reduce snags and obviously something weedless And slow down. Seriously. Painfully slow. This is often the key on days where bites are far and few between.
  5. Fishing the same pond over and over is the reason I believe. Especially if you've been fishing it for years. Fish somewhere else. 1/8 oz bitsy bug. Rage chunk trailer. Swim it, and pitch it to places you know the bass are. You'll catch some for sure. And probably a nice one. Good luck.
  6. When I was 10 years old. My best friend and I would troll jointed rapalas off the back of a paddle boat. We caught bass. And I've been in love with fishing ever since. Still fishing, 16 years later. Every once in awhile I'll tie on a jointed J-7 for old times sake. And it still catches bass. I have one from that time i keep on my key ring.
  7. Made for drop shotting. I think you should drop shot whatever small plastics you already have. Drop shot your 4" senkos . I don't know you or anything about you but I bet you have some. Yum is cheap tho. Go for it. The technique is more important than what you're using .
  8. ^ not the case with Walmart anymore. They sell rage tail, z man chAtterbaits , and rapala cranks. They're not seconds. They're just popular because they catch fish.
  9. Switch ur line to 30 or 40lb test. 15lb braid is so thin and the Thicker line should help with less backlashes. If you're worried about your line being too strong and want more of a challenge, use a leader.
  10. 4-5 lbs. Lol these are funny.. if it means that much to you. Buy a scale. You're in a boat. No reason to not have a scale if the weight of a bass is really going to make a difference for ya. I usually just take a length. If it has a healthy girth you can usually get a nice ball park weight. It doesn't mean that much to me.. big bass to me is 19"+
  11. I use braid on everything both spinning and casting. I use leaders always unless i am fishing top water.. the use of leaders depends on the application but they are always beneficial to help my bait sink, and stay down especially with plastics. And also I can break off if I have to without cutting alot of braid. Also the casting distance cannot be beat IMO . Especially if you can't afford luxury lines. Also... The braid floats! So bite detection with weightless plastics on your spinning gear is much easier! I use hi-vis yellow with a floro leader. The braid floats and the floro sinks. It's a win-win. Some folks also believe the bass are line shy. Floro leader helps in this department as well. I'd go 15lb braid on my spinning gear to a 6lb floro leader.
  12. True but banjo minnow isn't even comparable to the op. Cuz the banjo minnow caught fish. And like it or not, so did the helicopter lure. My ex's father lived In Alabama and has told me repeatedly about the bass he caught on those helicopter lures and he is dead serious... That thing in the OP isn't gonna catch anything... Ever. That homer Simpson could probably catch bass if it actually wobbles. I'd like to see someone post something that is actually comparable because the banjo minnow and helicopter lure are not this.. Maybe a brick, or a wacky rigged piece of pvc ??
  13. Nothing that bad. that's horrible ??.
  14. I got one comin. I've had 2 years now where my biggest bass have came on a jackal gantarel Jr. And looking like it's going to be 3 if I dont catch a bigger one on something else. The bait is just a beast. It's almost not fair , the thing floats at first... Swims awesome.. and suspends ... You can barely twitch your slack and it swims in a circle or will do a 180... And I've caught some big fish on it. Big to me is 19"+ Im excited for the bull shad. Anyone excited for the baby bull shad? I have one of these coming too. Along with a spro bbz1 .
  15. BUMP Let's hear it.. Or is this something you'd rather not share ?
  16. Just use the all black ones . I like the tequila too.
  17. Awesome lure.
  18. Bahahhahahahha ?
  19. @pondhopperNJi may be in the minority but I have no idea who the "googans" are. I'm just letting you know, adding scent is not the new thing.. it has been around for a long time. My late grandfather would use attractant on his lures and swore by the stuff and had used it for a long time. Since before I was born. I'm 26. I think you got the answers you were looking for... Personally I have some... And never use it.. I have some markers that supposedly have scent on them and I'll use those on flukes to draw stripes on the fluorescent colors. I do that for me tho I don't think the fish care the slightest. Good luck.
  20. It's not the "next big thing" either.. it's been around for a long time my friend.
  21. Big bass baits for me. Topwater of any kind. 5" swimbait Chatterbait WITH a trailer. Jig. I've caught big bass on a 4" senko tho and an 8" bass on a twelve inch worm . Timing and location are much more important than bait choice in my opinion.
  22. My late grandfather swore by these . The grey/silver color and the tequila / red shad culprit worms. If he couldn't catch a bass on one of those two he'd call it a day lol. I remember him having very successful days with them. You don't see much about them because the market is flooded with the latest and greatest and let's face it... Bass aren't usually very picky. I think every company out there has a soft plastic that will catch bass.. timing and technique far outweigh color or brand. They're like classic muscle cars... Still awesome to this day , just not seen as often.
  23. Swim jig with a slim trailer like a rage menace.. I like 3/8oz for some extra distance... Strike king makes an awesome one when you're talking about what you get for the price... Also drop shot... I hear and see alot about how people say you can't drop shot from the bank... or that it isn't practical. Because it tends to be a vertical presentation.. but it Works just fine for me ?‍♂️
  24. X3 on the bigger minnows for bass. If not you'll be catching all the gills and whatever else (maybe crappie ?) . Hooking them through the mouth allows the minnow to live longer, if you're on the fish though.... It shouldn't matter much.
