None taken.. and I know you're right.. But... you and I both know people make their own decisions. You know you didn't do everything the way your dad wanted you to.. when people get to that certain age they don't want to be told what to do or how to live anymore. They think they know best... they want to live the way they want to live. It is their life. And although this is horrible, it is not your fault sir.

No matter what you do, or how this turns out.. do not blame yourself.

When we say drug addict we are not talking about just pot right.. I'm assuming its not because you said hed rather be homeless..but I've seen crazier things.. if its about something harder than pot he's in serious danger.. cocaine, heroin,meth all lead to prison and death. There is no healthy long term user of any of those drugs... Please tell me it's not just pot though. Most drug addicts use pot because it offers them another "high" so it gets an extremely bad reputation.. it is safer than things that are legal.. like alcohol for example. I know this thread is not about that discussion so that's all I'm going to say about that.. I don't know how it feels to have a child caught up in this . When mine grow up I hope they never do.. But most areas in the world have these types of issues.. in school I was caught in a crowd who were doing some of those things.. I have branched away from any of them .. as I have my own family now.. Intervention is needed. Get the whole family together and tell him how much you love him and don't want to lose him. Send him off to re claim his sobriety. This is the only way. I assure you the angry screaming route will not work.

I wouldn't put myself in a position to die , especially over a fish. No fish is worth death.. Especially when you have a family of your own.

A jig is a great thing to learn to fish.. can be fished year round and can really fool some lunkers. When I'm fishing with someone else and they are using some type of jig... I never question if it could produce . Because they produce everywhere all the time.. just with certain variances complementing the conditions.

My girlfriend would be ticked to see what people call her . I guess that's alot better than a demon.

Any lure I'm afraid to lose I've either had for a long time or I can't get anymore. In which case it gets retired . Whichever lure I choose to fish will be fished fearlessly. I'm not one of those megabass suckers tho so the most I'm losing on any one bait is like 12 bucks. But usually more in the 6-8 range.

Yea I don't own one live target that hasnt caught fish.. this includes the walking frog, 2 different lipless (caught a nice one on one of these) a flat sided crappie crank bait , and a blue back Herring 4.5 inch hard jointed swimbait. But there are just too many brands out there.. that are very durable.. and catch fish time after time. Bomber model A and the original shad rap are my favorites. Also bandit, Berkley , lucky craft, strike king, bill Lewis, Bagley,cotton Cordell, norman, rebel, storm, yo Zuri, Livingston, 6th sense, and luck-e-strike all offer cheaper cranks that catch fish just as well. And most of them better IMO

@bigfruits I feel kind of stupid sharing the story in person . I shared because it really happened. And I figured maybe someone out of the 56,000 members had something to say about it.. Apparently demon is the answer . It hasn't happened again... and I hope it doesn't .. But I haven't stayed in that room again either. My grandparents have never seen anything and have lived in the house for over 40 years... I said something to them about it and they kind of just blew it off. So. Who knows.

That's horrible... I dont know much about otters really.. youd think they'd target medium to small ones... but 22 pounds is a nice channel cat! Does this mean the otter is putting a dent in the bass too ? Can't your Florida wildlife program come tranquilize it and relocate it. Although I'd recommend something different if it was your private pond. Im sorry I'm just rambling on your thread. I hope you get some folks together for a little tournament.

And every color Ive tried works ! But I'm partial to the salt n pepper . I just ordered some JJs magic in hopes to spice the presentation up even more (?

Man I love lakes like those. Not so vast that you don't know where to start (I've yet to buy any electronics) and it's because I mostly fish small lakes and large ponds.. the biggest lake I fished last year was under 350 acres. Small lakes are fun ! And can still grow seriously big fish ! I caught a 24" out of my neighbors 3acre pond this year.. so.. who knows what your 16acre lake holds.. in Florida !!!! Any catfish ?

I'm just curious if you got your PB in this lake ? If not.. do you know the biggest taken from it ? Sounds like fun. I'd be in for sure. Too bad I'm like 1000 miles away lol
