  1. It's funny that you bring up Timmy Horton. I've watched 3 of his episodes in the past couple days... And the dude caught more big bass (5+ lbers) on those outings than I did all season last year.. by far. And the only two lures he used was a deep diving crankbait.. and a buzzbait in the shallows. The deep crank in 2 of the episodes and the buzzbait in the shallows on the other. Now, he is getting to fish prestigious southern lakes. Like lake falcon. And I think the other one was in Alabama. . But it made me wonder why I have a tote full of fishing lures when this dude slammed 10+ hogs on 2 lures. In 2 different states at 3 different times of the year. It's the electronics... The technology at our fingertips (if you can afford it) is incredible... Being able to set waypoints and your boat controls the trolling motor for you. Can keep you on that ledge or brush pile in the current...So impressive.. and The sonar is out of this world.. unbelievable what things have come to. It's almost like hunting with an infrared scope and an m4 custom. WITH a grenade launcher
  2. I feel the same.. I have enough senkos to last a lifetime.. probably for both of us. Lol. Especially considering the o-rings and mend it.
  3. It says I have no permission to see it...
  4. I seen you posting on another thread and found your posts very informative. And you have cool stuff on this thread. So kudos. And thanks.
  5. Not many fishing days go by where I don't use one... Learning to fish a true Texas rigged ribbon tail is a good idea for any bass fisherman. On the same note... They are not usually the hottest lure of the day for me.. but sometimes save me from a skunk and I have caught some nice ones with ribbon tails. Definitely have a place in my box.
  6. Lol I swear though I knew as soon as I posted I was getting quoted from you... I'm just confused on how it makes such a difference with zinkerz and makes absolutely no difference if I use super salt plus or unsalted trick worm.. Is this a hint to watch my blood pressure ?
  7. I really wasn't offended... Lol it just stuck in my mind for some reason and when this post was made about salt it kind of made me think... What's salt have to do with anything ? There really isn't any 'obviously " about it bud. You said that it makes absolutely no difference.. and you meant it.. the reason you gave me was so that the consumer would buy 2.. there was no sarcasm in that.. and clearly I'm not going to go tell "all my friends " anything.. lol. What friends anyway I'm basically married with a child... it's all good i just took your word for it and assumed the salt made.no difference other than some taste...But apparently this only has to do with zoom finesse worms .. and their like? .. @IndianaFinesse how'd I know you were going to quote me when I mentioned team9nine.. I suppose that makes sense. But to say that the salt in "super salt plus" and unsalted zoom plastics makes no difference is more than a little odd to me... Is what it is... The answer doesn't change my life at all.
  8. I started a thread awhile back. About salt in zoom finesse worms... And @Team9nine chimed in saying "what's salt have to do with anything " ? In which I replied... Dont the finesse worms without salt float better ? In which I was informed that "the only reason zoom makes salted and unsalted trick worms is so that I (and everyone else) thinks they need 2, 1 of each in same color" , and that "I should go tell all my friends I need both kinds so that I can catch fish" this is exactly what was said to me . So in the word of team9nine. . What's salt have to do with anything ?
  9. I'm the only one who wonders how Chris lane did
  10. Yea but that doesnt mean it's the sonar .. lol
  11. @Sam I'm curious why a number of.your friends will not be drinking Budweiser products anymore
  12. .
  13. Lol right. Mine come in June... Mid day... When "it's too hot to fish"
  14. I just rip off @A-Jay 's lures. You can creep on his posts in the fishing reports. See what he caught and how he did so. Then boom; stickin the fat mommas
  15. I'm glad this was posted.. I have access to a 1 acre farm pond. And it has 3 grass carp inside. I see them Everytime I go . At least one of them. Anyway. I've tried all the stuff everyone is saying. Corn countless times, cherry tomatoes , Nd a doughball mix.. hours I've spent on this bank trying to catch one... Chummed the area.. went days in a row...Very frustrating. When I try bread the bluegill get to it first.. and sometimes they take the corn too. I know they are able to be caught because my late grandfather caught them and put them there himself. I wish he was around to show me. I'm determined to get one... I'll try the cattail stalks I guess.
  16. @MassBassin508 one of many. Searching red eye shad in the fishing tackle will bring up more hits than anybody would care to read.
  17. It is the most praised lipless crankbait on these forums ..By far.
  18. As far as trailers I like a kalins lunker grub . And a rage menace. I've never had a problem with hook sets because of the weed guard . But by all means remove it if you don't think you need it.. It's always better to have and not need... Than need and not have.
  19. Senko Double tail hula grub- Fat ika Rapala x-rap Rapala jointed shad rap Rapala original floater Rapala shad rap Jig and rage craw Rage structure bug Roboworm dropshot (could have went with keitech live impact here)
  20. Curly tail grub on a jighead.
  21. I've never noticed much distance either... I can sling with the best of em with a spinning rod. But I just feel more "geared" using baitcast. Lol . Like I'm a pro.
  22. @GT Tompkins honestly, no.. but nose hooked they will stay alive longer than any other way (if you're reeling them in) When I do this and the bluegill dies, they get hacked and turned into catfish bait... But I'm doubting catfish are in there too... Not to worry. Not much goes to "waste " . The crows can have em. If all goes as planned you won't need many anyway. Keep in mind when you make your cast, every bass within 50 feet (more or less) is aware of something entering the water !! Keep it up and out of the weeds (or In your case branches ) And you should be in action... If not.. no problem , relocate, and repeat. I don't like circle hooks because I like to set the hook... But many fisherman much more accomplished than me swear by them... So use em if that's what you like. The muddy water shouldn't be much of a problem... But what could be a problem is the weather ! Where are you located ?? This tactic works much better mid spring through mid fall up north.
  23. Umm seen as how the pond is only an acre or two.. it IS as simple as letting the bait do the work. You can even cast it out and reel it In slowly. It won't be long until you have a taker. If she's active you'll have her in a matter of minutes. A weedless hook isn't gonna do much for the gill getting tangled up in branches. Who cares what they do In Florida ? Are you in Florida ? Fishing with shiners ? I'm assuming not. Northern strain largemouth are notoriously more aggressive than Florida strain.. . That's why "finessing" it may be key when targeting FLORIDA strain laregmourh. But for northern strain a simple 3 to 4 inch bluegill nose hooked with a baitholder style hook will do you just fine... In a small pond it is as simple as that. Saying that you have to finesse it into cover is not true. I can recall on too many occasions where bass came 30+ feet (like zoomed over quick ) to check my bait out and then take it. Big momma's too. If the gill don't work try the shad.. but when an adult bass sees an injured baitfish. It's game time, instinct. Invite me over I'll do it for ya.
  24. Spend a day free lining a bluegill. Lose the bobber. And hook it through the nostril .
