  1. How much is tackle warehouses black Friday sale ? 20% off ?
  2. I'm in I participated a couple years ago and I can't remember exactly his screen name. Massbasser with some numbers I think . Anyway. I like this.
  3. In ponds I find them up shallow when it's flooded and murky. Use a high action plastic and drag it on the bottom rather quickly. Specifically a "jika" rigged keitech crazy flapper or rage bug. Also a good old shad rap sashayed back and forth is a hog Hunter . Good luck.
  4. Go braid to leader. Ur 50lb is fine no need to change it although a 40lb would probably get a little extra casting distance. But go to like a 12-14lb fluorocarbon leader. Many reasons to do this man the biggest one for me is I can break off if I get snagged too bad ! You'll be cutting off a whole lot of braid or having to find something to wrap it around to pull it and who knows where the line will snap cuz it's rarely at the knot if you use a palomar . That alone is enough reason for me to use the leader but the fluoro also sinks unlike the braid , and it is also less visible for the fish. And you don't need all the line management that a full spool of fluoro requires ; and the casting distance from braid can not be beat ! Get confident with your knots and it's no issue at all. Braid to fluorocarbon leader is the way to go.!!
  5. Nobody says megabass cuz the people using them don't want you throwing them too ?. I own a couple megabass but at 20$+ I get a lil nervous fishing them sometimes. I've caught fish with them but don't throw them where I feel I'm gonna lose them... Which means 2 things 1) they are out of my price range and 2) I'm missing fish. I like rapala husky jerks and x-raps. I'm confident with them and contrary to the above poster who called them expensive. They are one of the most inexpensive and productive jerkbaits you can buy.
  6. Jigs and senkos
  7. It always makes me laugh how we use black lures to "stand out" yet we color the line black to help hide it when fishing braid ?
  8. I've had mine for a couple years and use them when I shovel the driveway and stuff too. So far so good.
  9. What kind of waters are you fishing. ?
  10. Knew the question , situation and answer just from the title.
  11. @Dangerfield nice choice on the gloves. You will not be dissapointed.
  12. Lol you the plug James ?
  13. Pictures ?! I might have this problem if I didn't constantly snag and break them off. I've never lost a lure more than this one. It's not because it's an RES tho. It's because it's a lipless and I can fish the whole column with it and she don't rise when I bump into something, she buries into it ?. They catch fish tho. I'll give em that.
  14. I like anytime I can get out on the water. As long as it's not dangerous I will go if my time allows. I'd take anything over still, dead heat
  15. Google pintail dropshot minnow. Lots of results. Like most situations. If you are ON THE FISH with the drop shot... The lure is not quite as important as we want to think it is IMO. The flashy sides and realistic look is for you; not the bass. Try dopshotting what you already have. For example a 4" senko. I like the reins bubbling shaker. Or GY 4" kut tail worm. Fish what you have confidence in.
  16. Looks like elegy bone. Largemouth like em too?
  17. Yea you're right. I was thinking trees. Definitely wouldn't work here and I would definitely just use straight braid. If the glove works for you, awesome !
  18. Yea never pull with the rod regardless of the price. Use a leader in snag prone waters . Like 10lb fluorocarbon. Problem solved.
  19. Yea I agree, 10 acres you can work the whole thing.... I find bigger bass up shallow when it rains HEAVY and the water rises/ darkens.
  20. Use braid. And a leader
  21. I think we all would rather catch 5 big fish than 20 small fish. But the biggest factor in that is WHERE YOU ARE FISHING. You can't catch big bass if you're not fishing where the big bass are; if they even exist in the body of water you're on. If you haven't caught big fish on senkos it's because you don't fish them that often. Because they most certainly catch big fish. I can't remember the members name but he has a picture of a huge bass (like 10lbs+ easy) he says he caught on a 3" senko. And I've caught big bass (for my area, 20+") on senkos every season. I've also had dinks take 12" worms and 5" bluegill sized swimbaits like the gantarel Jr. And when I say dinks I mean half a pound. Again. The most important factor in catching huge bass is location..period.
  22. Wow this thread jumped way off track ?. Chatterbait vs spinnerbait And how I'd attack floating vegetation What do you guys think goes best on chicken wings ? I think a medium buffalo but sometimes I get conditioned to the heat so I just take a nice honey BBQ. Ya know. Gotta keep me guessin.
  23. I like the power pro hi vis yellow. And I've been running a fluoro leader while senko fishing for many reasons. The braid stays on top of the water which helps in the strike detection A TON. AndI like braid for the main line for the lack of line management you need compared to fluorocarbon and the casting distance / sensitivity also. the leader helps the bait sink a little faster and I can break off easier if I get hung up really bad... And it's supposedly much harder to see! Is for me anyway ? we won't open up that can of worms here but I like spinning gear , braid to leader for senko fishing . I remember the first time I used a weightless senko. It was a farm pond about 3 acres and me and my buddy had never used them before. We must have caught 30-40 bass between us and one of them went 23" . I've been sold on senkos ever since and they continue to produce for me year after year. Like all lures bass will get conditioned to them. I've seen the studies blah blah blah the worm is the only lure a bass can't get conditioned too. I have a pond at my home. They aren't a fan of the senko like they were when I first moved in.
  24. There is nothing inefficient about catching bass and thats exactly what the senko does. It was designed to be fished weightless.. on semi slack line. Cant even begin to count all the bass I've caught on senkos of seemingly every color. There's nothing boring or inefficient about it ?. Throw it where you know the bass are, Pop it , and set the hook. I've had so many 15+ fish days on senkos it's ridiculous. And I only fish it weightless. If I'm going to throw a weighted rig there are plenty of other options . Seems you just enjoy the ol run and gun. Which I agree is very fun... But they can't resist that senko ! We are probably discussing the best bass catcher to exist to this date. The weightless senko. Top 3 hands down.
  25. Wow culprit worms ! I don't see these talked about at all. My late grandfather ... This is all he would fish. 1/8oz tx rig culprit worm in red shad or tequila. That's it. Lol. Actually I think I remember him using some sluggos but he was ALWAYS using a culprit worm. I'm bout to buy some just for him . Thanks for mentioning these.
