  1. All those bass you catch and you haven't managed to put a few hogs in your pond ? !
  2. This is interesting.. this isn't the first complaint I've heard about VMC... I've never had an issue with any of their hooks.. from their spinshot to their "sureset" trebles I use for my topwater poppers... Many companies run these hooks.. rapala obviously.. and I've even seen some lucky craft with VMC hooks..
  3. I love hot wings too.. I eat spicy foods every day. I don't like to have my nose running and eyes watering though... Nothing to gain from that... Ever been to quaker steak and lube ? I was having a few drinks after work one day when one of the dudes I was with said we should try their hottest ones... Atomic I believe is what they call em... One of those man vs food shows did the challenge... Anyway , I decided against it when they told me I had to sign a waiver to have them served to me lol. A waiver ?!?! This isn't bungee jumping.
  4. Similar results to my first time using a senko... Except for I caught around 15 young adults and decided I'd give my buddy a senko and show him what I was doing (we were bank fishing).. he had results similar to yours. One big bass. A lot more to the story but now's not the time. Nice fish. Welcome back to bassin
  5. Over the years I've learned that when in doubt... Throw a jig.. you can pitch, hop, swim and drag it everywhere and they work year round.
  6. @RoLo will this work for grass carp ?
  7. @Megastink Go to the top right corner, click your username with the down arrow. Go to "my attachments" , open that and let it load.. Delete some of your older , large sized content. And youll be able to load pictures again.
  8. Alot of people like the flipping hooks, are you punching ? Or just pitching/flipping to cover?.. a 3/0 ewg fits the structure bug perfect.. I tex-pose it and then lightly skin hook. Never have issues with hook ups and usually get at least 2-3 fish per bait.
  9. I have one... I have 3 baitcast setups and it's my favorite by far.. light and sturdy and casts a mile. The rod is nice and sensitive and i love the winn grips especially on the butt of the rod and on the reel! I'm gonna get another one in a heavy set up when funds allow.
  10. Those are the ones that make the heart race when you see her side for the first time. Nice job.
  11. I caught a few crappie today jigging craw imitations for bass.
  12. This is the most effective way to catch large bass. This is what the current world record was caught on by that dude in Japan. I've done it several times throughout the years and have caught some nice bass doing it. Also pike, and catfish very easily. If it's private property you have no need to worry about if it's legal or not.. but some states have restrictions against using this method so check that out. I use a baitholder hook , and hook through the bottom jaw and out a nostril. They almost always take it head first . Kinda cheating though (; really not much to it if you can locate the bass, which is what fishing artificial Is all about. I caught a nice one yesterday on a 5" hard bodied swimbait... Maybe go that direction. Topwaters, jigs and big worms also. Good luck.
  13. 5" hard body swimbait... Got her to the bank to see one point of one treble in her ! Made my weekend
  14. Imma have to say Halloween.... Not because of the candy and dressing up... I just like the crisp breeze. I miss Michigan. Lol
  15. I'm cool with using both.
  16. The nail wait rig is like wacky, dropshot and shaky head all in one... And in my opinion is best in sandy bottoms or sparse rock.. letting the worm sit on the bottom is when I get a lot of my bites using this rig. I avoid this rig in weedy bottoms... I'd try something totally different if the crowd is using senkos and dropshot... J-rigged structure bug has been hot for me in a muck bottom situation.. keeps the bait just off the bottom and my most effective retrieve is similar to what you'd use with a swing head... Nice n steady.
  17. The biggest loophole In this theory is the brain capabilities between humans and bass.... Humans tend to over complicate things .. but also tend to achieve what they set out to do... The difference with bass is how they go about doing things.. See you set up for turkey with your camo, gun, possibly masking scent, decoys, hen or Tom calls, and a spot that you've tracked and marked turkeys at before... Where as a bass typically does one of two things ... Roams or lays in wait for prey to dare inch close enough to be lunged at ! Eat or be eaten is the story of a bass's life... Not so much for me and you.. Good luck on your turkey huntin!
  18. Really dude ? You're talking about your kid looking off at a butterfly and the inline spinner getting snagged on the bottom... Which is much lighter than a RES... And now you're wanting him to use a 1/2oz bait with 2 trebles ? Lol and I'm the one "who doesn't have kids" because I recommended a treble hooked lure... That will catch them all day
  19. Don't fish em on the bottom ! I don't know your location but most of the US has warmer water and some active fish ! Cast and reel.
  20. @fullcoupe not just small bass eat an inline spinner I promise you this ! @Choporoz yes... I do have a child. And nephews and cousins and I tend to always put them on some fish. And a spinner bait does the trick quite often ! If they can cast and reel it's effective .
  21. Anything that won't get snagged will usually require a more firm hookset... For example a true Texas rigged worm I recommend an inline spinner. Mepps to be specific. A true multi species bait that will keep the kid busy. It's what I tie on when I just want a bite and I have caught bass, crappie, bluegill, pike and channel cat on a mepps spinner. If you cast and continuously reel there won't be any snagging. Other than that you can try a 4" senko weightless rigged Tex-posed and then lightly skin hooked.
  22. Senko, fat ika , squarebill, dropshot and a jig are my favorites for aggravating the bass around docks... I do my best to get em underneath the dock as far as possible. I also try to stay a nice distance away when making the first few casts so I don't spook em if they are on the outside of the dock.
  23. Understanding and finding your forage species is an excellent place to start
  24. Bitsy bug and rage chunk... So fool proof my gf landed 4 bass with it last time we went... And I was catching them on a 1/4 oz SK bluegill swim jig with a menace trailer... Cast and reel slowly was all we were doing. And we were getting hammered . I'm giving credit to the active fish and rage products
  25. I said in my post I don't recommend buying the 1 dollar baits ! And that the "middle of the road" baits were the way to go... That being said..If I was going to splurge on a lure (pay more than I should) it would be a topwater. Or swimbait. But I'm trying my hardest to stay out of that game.lol
