I own one. It's nice. I use it for punching and also hard body swimbaits 1.5-2.5oz. I've had it for awhile and just recently put a Lew's super duty on it. I only have 150 in the whole thing and it's awesome..

If you shop around most bandit cranks can still be had for 5 bucks ! I never go to BPS or Cabela's expecting a deal... Although I did get a Lew's super duty at Cabela's the other day for 100 bones.

If you get followers but no takers, I usually have better luck with an increase in speed than I do with a sudden pause.

Not to nit-pick... But you said you pulled out your senkos and your circle hook... And missed your first fish when you tried to set the hook ! Keep in mind you just need to reel with a circle hook and the idea is that it will catch perfectly in the corner of the mouth. Trying to set the hook with a circle hook will definitely result in lost fish... BTW .. you can use a bigger hook . I use a 3/0 ewg and Texas rig the senko weightless first.. no takers, I'll flip it and put it on wacky... Can't count the number of bass I've caught over the years on a wacky rigged senko using a 3/0 ewg . Is it ideal ? Not really. But highly convenient when you also have success fishing them Texas weightless. Just a thought. Also 3 out of my 5 biggest fish were caught between 12-5pm. In summer ! When it's "too hot to fish"

the change in speed of your lure triggered the bite all 6 times. They weren't on your hook. They were eye balling your bait and when it moved quickly , so did the bass. I love days like those.

Honestly I hate to see comments like this. Slap him in the face with the bass you're catching ? For one, who the hell let's anybody slap them? let alone with a fish... And two , are you catching dinks ? Or are you mishandling nice fish ? Maybe you were just joking.. it just rubbed me the wrong way.. like when I see someone mistreat their kids... My blood boils cuz I couldn't imagine someone treating my kid that way. I understand the comparison is not the same... It does have big "shoulders" ... You should carry a soft tape ruler if you don't want to use a scale . A measure of length and girth at it's roundest area will give you the closest estimation of the weight. Other than a scale or exact measurements... It's all here say ! Im guessing around 3 pounds. Bass get much larger than 16-17". My PB length was 24"... I believe most of the "world class" largemouth are in the 28- 32" range... That being said you did catch a nice healthy adult largemouth. And that's always the goal for me. Nice job.

I purchased a Lew's super duty speed spool for 99$ at Cabela's ! Everywhere else is almost double that! TW has it listed at 199!! The old man at Cabela's said they were discontinuing this reel, But I don't know how much truth is behind that ! Regardless , heavy duty reel for 99! It feels great and is super smooth. It's going on my heavy set up.

I fish with braid on a cheap spinning reel all the time. 20 # power pro. I can seriously cast weightless flukes farther than I need to in calm conditions! I'm almost positive you have too much line on your reel . Simple as that.

Much easier to catch bass you can't see. You're chasing bass that are up shallow and keyed in on bluegill. It'd be almost impossible to catch them unless you're using ... Well.. a bluegill. Lol. Try a swimbait that looks like a sunfish. I won't say which ones but I have some nice ones that have caught some hogs and have lasted many, many fish.

Lol right.. it's all great.. the cast to the right spot, the right lure selection and retrieval, the hookset, the battle and the release ! Totally agree ! What I'm saying is tho , you're not going to get all the fish that shake loose right then and there.. especially a healthy mature bass.. you might be able to get some.. but it's fish lost for sure.. and possibly gut hooked fish.. love the idea of helping someone catch fish but not so sure shaking loose with your rod and them casting to it will yield very many impressive bass..
