  1. Lol really tho
  2. @Finesse Wayfarer got the same one. You can also use it to clear the eyelet on a fresh jig head.
  3. Those are nice. I have some , and can tell you that you should have went to harbor freight tho. Get a 4 pack with the same heads for 1 dollar.
  4. I know im not the only one who believes in aliens.
  5. Gran Torino . It never gets old to me. Lol
  6. If it says rapala on it , I feel like I will catch a fish with it. I have to be in the top ten of biggest rapala fans on this site. I own a few of the shadow raps, my best color is like a charcoal or black ghost . They catch fish right out of the box... But with the shadow rap (and most lures ) timing and retrieval are the most important ingredients in your success. I have many jerkbaits from several different companies and have caught fish with them all.. Any bait that mimics a baitfish will catch bass year round .
  7. I live in the Wilmington / Xenia area. And fish the little Miami and cowan lake as far as public areas go. Nice to see someone else close. Looking forward to your future posts.
  8. I do contract work for Lowes. Complete kitchen and bathroom remodeling. But I love miluakee tools, so I shop at home Depot. Also their "shark bite" push to fit plumbing pieces have a far better track record than both brands Lowes carries (blue hawk, and prosource ) Menards has a huge selection in their lighting department. And offer very cheap interior doors . Also is the only place I know where I can get beef jerky for 4 bucks a bag lol. I believe home depot's house brand is husky.
  9. In this crazy world, where nothing is promised... We are all lucky to even be alive.
  10. Are you using a proper set for the circle hook? You just need to reel and keep tension and the hook should set itself perfectly in the corner of the mouth. Trying to set the hook will result in lost fish using circle hooks
  11. The regular menace is killer on a 1/4oz swim jig ! Lol.. They should have made a Magnum menace instead.
  12. Lol I don't think that's quite the same comparison . I'd like to see Mayweather get in the octagon. Haha. Then this conversation would be much different. I think pacquiao would have beat Mayweather if he would have tried harder.. but nope he got in there and went through the motions and let Mayweather win, all while he got the biggest check of his life... That's why one of his first comments after the fight was "I'm going on vacation" . Mcgregor will do the same. Take the loss and the biggest check of his life. I won't be ordering the fight.
  13. I agree. Spool with braid. At least 30lbs. You can still use floro as a leader. I actually recommend it because if you get hung on a log or in a tree you can break the leader without losing half your spool.
  14. I like a 3/0 for the 5" senko. It lets the tail wiggle much more. 4/0 is a must for the fat ika, 3/0 is simply too small.. Straight braid will work just fine.. you should try a floro leader for weightless plastics , not only is it less visible but it sinks helping the bait get down slightly faster which seems to be the ticket for me in the summer. I do just fine using straight braid and have for years. Plenty of 20+ fish days , but since I've started using a floro leader my confidence has heightened ever more, even if it is a placebo (;
  15. X2 on the straight braid. All my reels are spooled with braid. I will use a leader for certain presentations but topwater isn't one of them.
  16. Ummm. Yea! Especially in ponds !! Get an 1/8 oz "bitsy bug" or any finesse jig and use a SK rage chunk... Not only will they eat it with the pitch method but they will also eat it with a slow swim, and those days end up being very fun. I use many trailers for jigs but in summer the rage chunk has been the best for me on a finesse jig. My girlfriend caught 4 or 5 using this bait last time we went and she lost a few as well. From lakes , rivers , big ponds (5+acres) , tiny ponds ( 1/2acre) a jig will catch those bass YEAR ROUND. I believe it is the most versatile lure a bass fisherman can use. The reliability from a jig is undeniable. An amazing part of bass fishing is all the ways they can be caught, but when struggling or looking for bigger fish there is a jig combo out there for every situation. Do yourself a favor and pitch, swim, drag and hop your jig all over your pond and see what happens.
  17. Lew's speed spool. Huge bang for your buck ! Easy to dial in and dependable .
  18. I second the jointed minnow, and inline spinner for multi species action.. Try a rapala tail dancer.
  19. Hideous ??! I don't think you can get a better crank for 7 bucks... You must not have had any luck on them... Which is weird cuz I never know what I'm going to catch with them .. could be pike walleye or bass. .. I've never heard them called hideous lol.. I've heard someone say "crapala".. I like the bomber recommendation as well. . But I guess that's just my blue collar point of view. I have one shad rap so scarred up I won't even use it in fear I will lose it.. and IMO.. it's not exactly hideous lol .. Shoot me a pm. I'll take them off your hands.
  20. Man I've caught a few hogs on rapala shad raps... They get the job done. Yellow perch, firetiger classic silver and gold are the only colors I really need. I recommend trying them out even though you don't think they are pretty. The shad rap in the deep runner , shallow runner, and original are staples in my box. The scatter shad is nice as well... The shad rap is the definition of value In my opinion and is a true multi species bait that fools adult bass.
  21. Well the good news is , now when you get a smaller boat there won't be any thoughts from strangers about compensation
  22. Mine is almost two now.. hopefully won't be long til I'm making memories like this one with her. Thanks for sharing
  23. Once the spool tension and brake system is set correctly, it all comes down to the rod. MH will do the job. I use 40LB and lately have been using a floro leader . 8LB for weightless plastics.
  24. Lol what do you think bass usually eat in small private ponds ?? Around here the main forage in every pond I fish is bluegill or green sunfish. Or did you mean legally ? Some states have restrictions... But on private waters , it's fair game and usually the easiest way to call out the queen. The world record in Japan was caught using a bluegill. Just some Food for thought.
