  1. Yeah in one of my local lakes the lmb's mainly eat tiny minnows and they are quite "toothy"
  2. Im going to get a new rod for smallies in small streams that is going to throw small poppers, cranks, jerkbaits, poppers, plastics, and spinners. I don't know if I should get a spinning rod or a casting rod and I don't really have a preference. I'm leaning towards a medium power spinning rod with 8lb mono but advice would be greatly appreciated. (Also $130 is about as high as I'll go for the rod)
  3. When do you guys use clear jerkbaits, spooks, etc. and what advantages do they have over their opaque counterparts?
  4. This spring at DSG Lunker Hunt Kraken square bills were on sale for $3 a piece. I bought a dozen. They're great for the price, although the lip is pretty fragile.
  5. My only legit bass fishing rod is a St. Croix Mojo Bass and an Abu Black Max. I've got some other rods for panfish and trout. I'm definitely gonna upgrade the reel before getting any more rods because it isn't as smooth as some of the spinning reels I'm used to.
  6. I've never hooked bass in the head... But once I was fly fishing with a size 8 or 10 panfish popper and somehow I hooked a lmb right in the side
  7. I use barbs for bass because bass are really easy to unhook. But for trout, bluegill, carp, etc. I mash down the barbs.
  8. What would be a good brand?
  9. I'm a young angler and I've been fishing for a while but recently I've gotten into bass fishing. I have been using fenwick eagle spinning rod for bass but I recently ordered a St. Croix mojo bass casting rod. My bass tackle is limited to senkos, a few jigs, a couple poppers, and a square bill. I'm leaving for a 2 week vacation to SC soon and I want to be prepared to fish ponds for bass there. I'm ready to drop $80 on baits, but I need advice on what to get. This is my first post on BR!
