Im new here, obviously lol. I will have to say i was spoiled when it came to fishing when growing up. My dad was a huge fisher and still is but he lives and owns a boat repair shop down in Virginia along the north carolina border, Right on lake gaston/lake kerr. Anyways ive always fished from a boat, but i dont have that luxury anymore lol.I just recently picked back up on fishing and i went out to the slackwater boat ramp, or rather a little up from it right at the water fall. I couldnt get any bites, ended up losing more baits than anything. Is there a good spot to hit either small mouth or large mouth around there? I was literally 30 to 50 yards from the fall so the current was ripping through. I dont really know the area at all, and am just getting frustrated. my gf and i went to greenbrier, then hunting creek/catoctin lake. Not a single bite or any luck. tried crank baits, worms, top waters. Basically just looking for a really good place on shore to catch some fish. Also what lures/colors your using. as well as how your rigging them. Sorry for the long post lol, I was trying to find some post but nothing was definitive for what im looking for.
